$2/mile in fuel just to roll loaded down the road on 8 axles. You think this will effect the economy??? We need carbon taxes obviously, thanks JT.
BigHossVolvo, Russell The Trucker, rabbiporkchop and 2 others Thank this. -
I really don't think politicians realize what the high prices will do to the economy and the lives of Canadian citizens. Groceries are already at all time highs. Of course this blamed on logistics problems. Partially true but also due to the greed of companies like Loblaws. Now the cost of freight will raise prices even more. Since the pandemic shoppers seem to just buy everything in site. Regardless of price. A 3 year old pu truck sells for more than a new one. Businesses are begging for workers. Governments waited too long to raise interest rates. All of this is like something out of Alice in Wonderland. Surreal. No one knows the end result but stagflation with double digit interest rates could appear. Are truckers getting a fuel surcharge on every load?
Russell The Trucker and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
Fuel is high but so far the surcharge is keeping up with the increases. Actually making more money but as a consumer everything is costing more also.

I should have mentioned all the shortages. I was in Tucson. Needed some grease cartridges. Not one at Walmart nor a local parts store. Finally found some at Tractor supply. Delo 400: Tried Costco and 3 Walmarts. Nothing. New Class 8 trucks are also hard to find. Nuts!
Russell The Trucker, rabbiporkchop and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
Costed me $2700 just in fuel to go from Edmonton to Vancouver and back this week. I'm getting a more fuel efficient truck soon and keep this as a backup, can't have a sustainable business on 4mpg with a tridem trailer
Another Canadian driver and BobO1176 Thank this. -
Wow. That is expensive that new volvo is advertising 9mpg at 85 mph! Apparently it gets the same mileage at 85 as at 65mph
Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Which truck is that, I haven’t seen it?
Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
It ,s not the truck it is their new engine. Just Google it
Another Canadian driver and BobO1176 Thank this. -
Funny I just seen a headline canada post customers upset over 31% fuel surcharge.
My company was at 67% last week.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.
