Its the sugar from soda’s and sugar from carbs, that blocks the fat burning.
Bacon and fats are OK but to burn them the body must not see any sugar available then it will burn the fat
eating fats and Sugars makes the fat get stored and not burned ip. Check Out Dr. BERG. on YouTube !
He goes over all of this and your conditions as well

About a year before your physical start dieting and exercising.

Walking a few miles a day and not stuffing your face with garbage will help a lot.

1.)The obvious one is diet change ,cut out the salt and the sugars, and yes carbs are sugars. Lower caffeine intake. Caffeine isn’t too bad when there’s no sugar.

    2.)exercise

3.)potassium supplements in conjunction with magnesium supplements. I’m not sure of your body size, so I can’t give you a reccomended dose. This is more efffective if you drastically lower your sodium intake.

This blood pressure business is really getting confusing. But the bottom line is this: When the cuff is removed from your arm, the reading has to be 140/90 or lower to receive a two year card. Some drivers get they're pressure checked in both arms about a year before the DOT physical, and if its high it will give you a chance to get it down safely. I mentioned the 148/104 reading to my doctor and she said the 104 diastolic was a cause for concern. Doctors look at the pulse pressure, the difference between the systolic and diastolic, in determining a healthy blood pressure. In this case it is 44. This is putting a strain on the heart.

Walk 1 mile or so. Not fast but not slow. Right before going in. It lowers it . Take 1 aspirin. Thins blood, lowers pressure. Or just go to doctor and get lisinopril. Cheap. About 10 bucks a month. Sometimes much less . Mild medicine. Just start taking it a week before so it has time to work. You don't have to tell them you are on anything. Even if you do it just means you have to go back 1 year instead of 2.

So he lowered his upper number but raised the lower number by 8 points.
Wonder what happens if you start out at a low of 90 or so. Raising that would be bad

Yes, Walking is good. Lose weight and BP goes down automatically.
Do Keto diet…. Visit Dr. BERG. on youtube.
Get some Hawthorn tabs, and Hibiscus herbs, and BEETS or beet powder
Cut out carbs, NO SODA ( hfcs ). Do not eat dinner or eat at night, unless
if hungry eat Cheese, or nuts, but no carbs.
Get oxygen into system before BP reading. Let them know you have “white coat” and they will let you meditate or rest for a little while before reading BP Deep breathing hyper ventilate
gets oxygen in. Dont pass out from hyper venitlating though. If you are a smoker, you need to stop. Smoking kills the oxygen in the system. If cannot quit. Go camping for 5 days by yourself and do not bring any cigs. Suffer the withdrawl alone in the woods with God
Some say eat a piece of bread 10 min before

I think people overthink this. IF you have high blood pressure you really need to be under a doctor's care. The doctor should order lab work and should go over it with you. It is amazing what some of these lab results say. Then the doctor will give you the proper meds and will absolutely prescribe getting plenty of exercise. I am showing a screenshot of my lab results from last month at the Richmond VA hospital. As you can see my sodium level before the 20th was low. This has been corrected. My heart doc told me the other day that something as simple as sweating can get rid of enough sodium to lower the BP by a good bit. Over time you can get rid of all those meds. I spoke to a driver several months ago that was only getting a one year card. he kicked all his BP meds and his private doctor said he was healthy. The MR gave him a 2-year card and YES it is clearly stated on his long-form his health history.

You don't need to see a doctor to start an exercise routine, but I do think it is important to get the full lab work done.

Oh, yes that Blood Urea test was high, this was because of some other factors and I was given fluid through IV that corrected that. In fact, I just got told the other day that was back to normal.
