Dump truck wreck Ohio

...i wonder why its exploded ... gasoline pickup truck from impact ... Or carrying something flammable

 

Dump truck driver on his phone maybe.

Drifts over, didn’t look like dump slowed down a bit.

So heavy he likely punctures the fuel tank and then all it takes is one single spark.

Looked like medical or perhaps a suspension/steering failure?

 

The vehicle on the shoulder was an Ohio Turnpike vehicle. I am guessing a F-350 sized vehicle, flatbed, possible crew cab, you know the style vehicle.
Could have had lawnmowers, trimmers, assorted landscaping maintenance tools in the back, including probably several gas cans.
Government organizations tend to use use the more expensive safety steel cans with a spring loaded cap, intended to prevent spills and ignition.
But nothing can stop a puncture, spark and ignition under these circumstances.

 

Both vehicles are shown after the fire was extinguished.



At 1:33, the ODOT Ford is shown. The cab literally melted to nothing.

 

I'm amazed how a couple people actually appeared to run into the danger zone to help.
