    Factoring
Using your numbers $3,500 factored at 3% is $105, your cost.
$210 total. That adds up quick.
I would wait the 30 days and get 100%. Or use brokers that pay quickly without charging you.

Sometimes you broker the loads, how do you get paid for doing the companies duties?

This situation is good for the company.

Why the difference in deductible for accidents. What if you claim it's not your fault but cop gives you an accident report saying it's your fault? What if it's caused by a mechanical failure?

Why do you pay for repairs? I would expect that taken out of operational expense.

How is net calculated. Looks like company is double dipping on the deductions.

10% of gross for factor and dispatch. Lately I've had dispatch services offer service for 4%. + 3%factor is 7%.

I'm not saying it's a bad situation for you.
There's more variables to account for than you mention. Office expenses, various fees and permits, IRP, IFTA who pays?

I would insist on a flat rate. That's simple to calculate.

    Good luck.

Judging by your responses to peoples suggestions you already had your mind made up.
Apparently you are just waiting for someone to agree with you.

He came to the wrong place for that. If he was right we'd agree with him, Otherwise, no.
He might not like the advice he's been given but it was honest and based on actual experience.
When this many truck drivers agree on something he can believe what they have to say. Or not, at his peril.

Either way, @Heavy Heavy , let us know how things worked out for you.

Sounds like a headache, 28-32% of what the truck makes is pretty standard.

i wouldn’t deal with it, but I’m not you

    Yep
I paid my drivers 33% but it was local
    And regional runs ,

my neighbor gets paid 20% of the gross to the truck but he does oversize loads and averages 85-90 cents for all miles . they run more empty miles than loaded , but the loaded miles are pricy for oversize overweight loads.

Really all depends on the benifits and time off too, usually the less bennys the higher the %

Is the gross before fuel and tires etc ?
    Straight off the top?

do you trust the guy to be honest about the gross ?

does he have contract freight or is he running spot market ?

do you get to have a say in picking the freight ? Or is he going to just stick you with whatever cheap load he can find ?

doing the 30% of gross would be a good way for you to learn the business . But with no benifits and a 1099 , which I assume this is , you don’t want to stick around too long , you will get screwed sooner or later . Trust me . When it comes time to cheat the driver or put money into his pocket , which one is he going to pick ?
