Got a surprise extra stop in Albuquerque added to my BH load to Az. Haven't been to the Albuquerque place yet, thankfully they have a call ahead thing cuz they will take you early.

They are apparently desperate for reefers at BH Groveport. I got back in the truck today after a weekend off with the kids and my load assignment was to grab an empty reefer and deadhead from Richmond to Groveport, a distance of roughly 480 miles. Got a pre-plan on the way here, not surprisingly a Boars Head load to Alpharetta, GA, delivers at 4:00am Wednesday morning.

Hope they don't need any more empties because I grabbed the last one on the yard that wasn't red-tagged. Seems like maybe they oughtta bring all those Utility reefers down in Glade Spring online.

In other news, here's my next truck:

Many years since I've seen a Pete 377 in that kind of shape.

The previous owners have a huge truck museum down the road from the terminal. It’s called Keystone Truck Tractor Museum. Absolutely beautiful.

Took my kids there this weekend. Was really neat. My 17-year-old son, who has become a serious truck aficionado in his late teens, who knows more about truck mechanics than I do, had a ball.

Let my composure get the best of me,and fired off a get me to a terminal,to clean out the truck message this morning, been a couple years since my last.

Pu a bh in New Castle Friday, had a del Monday in Texas.Ok was told monday morning to finish taking a reset, that they would send something, for me to roll out with Tuesday morning, because they had to book freight.Never sent anything, here comes this morning, and I'm sitting around,we have to book something, are you kidding me,you knew I'd be out here friday.

    Just boggles my mind sometimes.

Heard that same response twice in a row 2 weeks ago. I always wonder if it’s a total surprise when a truck that’s been under a load for days, completely catches the planners off guard when the driver sends in an empty call.

Getting unloaded a day early as both places took me today. Bet the knuckleheads won't plan me til morning though. Saw a western express flatbed on the side of the road early this morning missing a set of duels on his trailer, betting his bearings burned up or something. Dodged the blitz so far, only got pulled into the southbound 17 rest area and had a dot officer make sure my brake lights were working and that was it. Might have been since I actually read and paid attention to the signs saying all trucks must pull into rest area though while everyone else blew right on by. Actually got myself perfectly straight in this dock at scottsdale, just took a little patience and inching back and forth.

Figured Id park at the Loves here in Phoenix after I got emptied out because I didn't feel like cooking today and figured Id get subway because also the J is under remodeling so no hot food. Can't believe Loves was filled up at 1430 in the afternoon so I went to the J and only a few free spots left and snagged one thankfully. I swear a lot of drivers only drive like three hrs a day then park for 24 hrs....put in 700 miles today....got my reload info today surprisingly, deadhead to Colton Walmart and drop my reefer then find a dry van then to HP in Santa Fe Springs. Going to Hagerstown, Md but probably have to drop in WM cuz I only have 37 hrs left on my 70 and guarantee Ca going to burn most of my 11 tomorrow between 55mph limit and LA traffic.

    dwells40 and Lonesome Thank this.
