Careful in northern Ontario for the next while. I saw 4 trucks hit the same moose near north bay plus 3 other moose dead . I had to brake hard twice this rounder for moose at night.

I'm seeing bears like crazy between Hearst and Longlac. 1 dead on the side of the road. Mostly look like juveniles but they run into the bush when you blow the horn.

    Springtime!
Mom's are having new calfs or fawns and shooing last years away.
so you have a bunch of unsupervised teenagers running around!

They’re like mosquitoes around the rez at Longlac this time of year. Bears are almost as much of a hazard. Saw one of the Burnaby Bush Pilots roll after hitting a bear out between Hearst and Longlac back in the ‘80’s.

The best steak is moose steak.
    Marinated for a week.
    Unless you are vegetarian.
Good for you for saving the day and the truck.
    And warning others. Thank you.

Magoo1968, Oxbow and Snoopycda Thank this.

I beg to differ, moose steak is the second best to elk.

    No contest. You are right.
I forgot about The Mighty Elk.
It's because my moose bumper only attracts moose.
I should have bought an elk bumper.
But none was available, back then. /s

That’s what we used to call Kwikasair back in the day, but it would fit any one of dozens of them from out there now.
