    Hello,

I am a fleet owner and I’m thinking about the tanker business.

any owner ops or fleet owners or brokers know what shippers are paying for those type of loads,

im particularly interested in fresh water loads for cannabis businesses.

trying to get a sense for the tanker side, how shippers typically pay, and whether it’s OTR or more on the regional local side

I didn't realize cannabis needed loads of water vs just piping it in.....

Large scale production plants have big tanks of water that keep the plants hydrated

piping it in idk I just know that I’ve seen them get deliveries from tankers

Can probably buy it elsewhere and truck it cheaper than making their water meter spin like a frisbee.

If they have deeded water rights they'll usually use their own wells or ditchwater if it's coming out of a storage lake or a river.
Trucking water to the pot growers in our area can be a hit or miss thing and there's nothing to depend on. Getting paid, access without tearing up your truck, and an available source of water to haul are all common problems.
I know some guys who do it as a side hustle but nobody does it full time. People have tried and they wound up getting out of it.

Nestle Waters (or whoever owns them now) will hire O/O to pull their tanker OTR up here where I am. There's also sub contractors pulling water for them with their own tanks, some of the fleets are fairly large. The one run I know of paid ~3200 to go from the wells to the bottling plant somewhere in PA, not great but not terrible money.

I can see cannabis business needing water tanked in, they like distilled water for hydroponics. Tap/well water has too much garbage in it to grow the good weed. But I also haven't seen anything like that going to the cannabis businesses around here.

Hmm, these threads go by so fast, this is the 1st I've seen this. Grow houses use an incredible amount of water, and as mentioned, the cleaner the better. We have a couple grow houses, medium size that gets the water from the Arkansas River, or springs, Nestle just opened a big spring outfit in Buena Vista,, in the center of the state. A recent ad , an outfit hauling water from BV to Denver looking for a driver, , they didn't say what for, but there are several HUGE grow houses in Denver( you can smell it whilst traveling I-70), and most of that water has to be trucked in. They were starting @ $29/hr, about average for the area. If I had my own truck, I'd certainly look into it. It's a $400 MILLION/year business in Colorado alone, like the great Bob Dylan said, "Cause these times they are a changin",,,
