    That is the main reason why I decided to finance my trailer rather than pay cash for it. Just to build business credit.. It is a dumb system like u said.

    If you want an inspection, pull into a scale ask for one. If they are not busy they will be happy to inspect your truck, just make sure nothing is wrong before you do.

    There's your answer. Just get your annual inspections and continue business as usual. Or, you can stop by a scale and ask for an inspection to potentially be bent over the barrel by DOT for those loads you want....
