I'll keep this fairly short and sweet. I'm just seeking some direction in which companies are taking care of their drivers these days. I took some time off driving OTR and I've been working hourly as a Delivery Driver and Lumber Yard Manager for a local lumber yard running a flatbed International straight truck (Class B) for the last year and a half and I'm itching to get back on the road. Previously I used to run reefer on the NE routes from Minnesota/NW Iowa to Ohio, Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Etc for a small town company that was bought out by another company. I'd like to be back in a Volvo 780/860 as that's what I'm used to running OTR and I simply like the layout and the sleepers however I'm not opposed to other trucks as long as they're well kept. The one absolute must is I'm a single father and I only get my son in the summer time for his summer break (he's currently 11 and lives in Florida in the school year) and so I need a company that allows me to let him ride or is willing to cut me loose for 8 weeks of the summer months. I know that seems like alot but you ask me to keep you moving, I can do that but you allow me to be a father is the deal. If anyone has any recommendations I'm all ears. I'm 33, physically fit (6'4 180lbs), valid Class A, Valid medical, clean driving record, and honestly just eager to get back to making real money as the 45k a year lifestyle just isn't for me or my sons future. I'm looking to find a company and to start around August 5th so I've got a bit of time to shop around and hopefully be the right fit for a successful operation. Thanks in advance and stay safe out there drivers

We have a rider policy for 10 and up. 2019-2022 Freightliners. Can give you the option of home for 8 weeks or have your son in the truck for 8 weeks. We don't currently have any double-bunk trucks available, the next batch is due in August with 4 double-bunks.

Your home time is what you want.

Check for my post in the employment forum "Honest $80k Opportunity." There is a reason we have 1/3 the industry's average turnover rate (mostly medical/aging out).

Looking for a few good drivers... Honest $80k opportunity.

Hey, I appreciate the quick response. I'll definitely check out your post. I've browsed on here quite often over the years, I just haven't posted and I know you're typically a well regarded user. I have let my current employer know that I am seeking employment elsewhere at the end of the summer so that he has time to replace me and he's attempting to keep me currently but there are multiple discrepancies that I have that I have made him aware of on multiple occasions that are a no go to staying employed where I am. I'll read through your post and let you know if I have any questions, thanks!

We would be more than willing to work with your schedule during the summer months as well as getting you down to Florida throughout the year. Our pay scale starts at $0.65 but increases with more experience. All of our drivers are getting into brand new 2022 trucks. Your son would also be able to ride in the truck whenever you needed. Feel free to call/text me at (210) 627-8275 or an email at Spencer@mtitransportation.com

OTR Drivers Wanted! Starts at $0.65 per mile
