    new to the forum hope I posted this in the right place I have a older Thermo King tripod not an evolution it quit charging my batteries thinking simple fix alternator bad put a new alternator on from Thermo King still doesn't charge no codes on my touchscreen was looking for a little insight before I just take the whole box apart also does the two wire plug go to an external voltage regulator thanks for the help

    Start it up and use a voltmeter to see if there is voltage coming out.

    With the APU running battery stud on the alternator only shows the same voltage as the batteries

    I have no clue but I was having some issue a few years ago.
    Actually 3 trucks ago and don’t remember what it was but the fix was a new ground cable

    Ok thanks I haven't done much checking anything yet looks like you have to take the whole box apart to get to anything so was looking for some experienced direction lol thanks again

    And what voltage is that? Sounds like the new alternator is junk. It should be putting out somewhere between 13 to 14 volts. I don’t remember if it has an external voltage regulator or not. That would be the first thing to find out.
