Typically a tell tale sign those lugnuts are loose. I would check them ASAP.

Agreed. There seems to be an awful lot of rust on the studs and nuts. Clean everything up and retorque.

Agree with the above. Telltale sign that the wheel nuts are loose.

Rusty trails? Hmmmm.... New country musician? No, I'm pretty sure that was name of some porn stud. Oh wait, I remember, rusty trails is the dead giveaway that lug nuts are loose. At least according to the pretrip routine/script we learned in school.

And it's a big 'look at me' sign when you go by a cop or the DOT at the scales

Thank you for the heads up. In the 15 years I have been driving I have never seen that before. I had checked them and they were all finger tight, but I made it back to the shop which was about 9 Mi away from my drop, and they went ahead and checked all of them, and said that there were four loose on the passenger side.

It wasn't rust, when I wiped it off it was kind of like soot that you would find on an exhaust leak. Black powder type substance

After you get them all cleaned up, don't go gonzo with oiling them. Too much, and the streaks will turn black from the oil slinging off.

Ive seen it a few times. Usually its a lug thats loose or oxidized. I typically just have the lugs replaced as a precaution then clean everything up with coke then brake cleaner.
