So background on my truck (94 379). Since I have owned it, it has always leaked down fairly quickly and some of the leaks have been easy to find and fix, and some haven’t.

My goals are to replace every single air line on it as I can in the future however it has taken me up until recently to really get a handle on it just component/parts leaks. Of course I expected this with an older truck.
Parts replaced so far… which hasn’t been expensive just sometimes hard to find leaks.

Door actuators for HVAC system (air actuated on many older trucks)
Rebuilt my slider valves on A/C HVAC sliders in dash by replacing the poppet valves inside
    Horton fan clutch solenoid
Drain valve on Air Tank (just found that one recently)
I had replaced leveling valve once and after a bit over a year that one was leaking so just replaced it.
Two air bags (although not leaking, just a bit rough) and I have checked the bags after overinflating them.
Air Dryer and Air Compressor were replaced in early 2021 not for leaks but still important part of air system
All brake lines (my front were in rough shape I noted while greasing truck up recently so I just replaced every one)

So before the recent round of crawling over and around it with a squirt bottle and a microphone air leak detector with head phones it was not uncommon for it to easily leak down overnight or even within a couple hours, after replacing one air tank drank and the recent leveling valve it now holds air for at least 72+ hours. Which is a freaking awesome for this truck.

So I’m just curious how long y’all’s trucks legitimately hold air? Maybe mention age of truck, just curious.

1 Hour, tops. I have been chasing leaks, but it's getting expensive to replace every fitting on the truck.
Nothing audible, but they do leak pretty good for a 2016

When it was cold, mine leaked down all the way overnight, I couldnt find the culprit anywhere. Now its warm and I found the problem. When I replaced the air dryer, one of the quick connects decided to leak. Now its warm and it leaks down about 1/2 way now. I have to replacement quick connect, ill finally change it this week!!

When its cold, they are empty in 4-5 hours. Now, they are only half empty after a 10 hour break. 98 FLD. Nothing audible…..well nothing audible to my deaf ears.

    1995 379 Pete.

    Overnight 115 down to 65.

After about 3 days everything will be deflated and at zero.

I replaced a lot already. The rear of the tractor will get the attention this summer.

99 FLD. When I got it 2 years ago, it would hold air solid for as long as it set there. Was my favorite feature!

Started replacing/repairing this and that and probably “created” some air leaks. Have been chasing and finding them for a year and half now.

Wake up after a 10 and I’m at zero. If I leave the gear selector in high, I’ll be around 70psi after a 10 hour.

so we replaced o-ring kit in transmission thinking we found a big culprit.

    Nada.

Air leaks make me wanna punch my truck right in the throat sometimes. But I don’t, cuz I luv her.
