There's only one of us who can answer that.

Started the day at 330am outside of Indy and finished at 21:10 at heartland north liberty. Taking 30 across Iowa to Ames is officially the only way I will go from now on. 80 is just a madhouse.

I swear dispatch is having an identity crisis. Something has changed can’t put a finger on it but it’s not the well oiled machine it used to be. These afternoon evening spots just aren’t my thing. Possibly going to be another 15+hour day.

So a few months ago I picked up a trl in Trenton supposed to be my home load. I got there before the trl arrived so was laying in my bunk waiting when the load came through. Go inside check for the paperwork not there, go outside check the clipboard not there. So go back inside to double check, nope not there.
So walking back out to my truck I see a guy sitting in his and ask him if he dropped the trl, sure enough he did.
He was surprised he had to give me the paperwork, lol told him I needed it to make the delivery. So gave him time to scan it in and hooked up to the trailer while he did his thing. Was taking forever so I went back up to his trk and started talking to him. He had only been it for 2 weeks.
His trainer quit the day he got his own trk. So long story short I gave him my number, Since that day I easily get 3 calls a day with questions. To top it off he is the only remaining 1st year guy who got his CDL when they were offering training free of charge with no 1 year commitment. He gets paid .39 a mile for not being required to stay a year.

39cpm per Diem or straight pay? I got my year coming up next month and deciding if I’m going to stay or not.

having the inward facing camera off, trucked bumped up to 70mph, 5cpm pay raise, and not having to pay $30 a week for school is nice. But I want more home-time

I’m OTR and got most of the places we go to memorized which makes the job easy not having to trip-plan as much.

I do like Jeff my dispatcher though. Easily get 3k+ miles a week I stay out. We’ll see, I’m slowly looking and seeing what’s out there.

.39 straight pay because of the no commitment. Everyone upped and quit after getting CDL that they got rid of that program. I believe he is the last man standing.

Yesterday started day at Truck World in Conneaut, Oh at 7 am. Had 2 pm appt at Rochester XPO(GXO). Arrived at 11 because last time there also had 2 pm appt. But last time instead of checking in I took a nap only to be woken up by shipping clerk complaining that the load I had was HOT and I should have checked in moment I arrived.
So this time I check in and I end up waiting till 1530 to get dock.
Get preplan out of NAB for 1800. Get there at 1700 check in don’t get door till 18:30.
First time ever in bldg 226, WOW, crazy how a different setting affects your back. My door was 67 right in the middle. Not being able to pull out the garage door to set up screwed me up. Got it in, but had to get out and look 4 times. Luckily I was the last truck to back in so I didn’t slow anyone down. Waited in line to back for a good 45 minutes.
Didn’t get paperwork till 23:00, went back over to XPO to spend the night where I continued the split got up this morning at 6:30am with 10:24 on my clock. No idea where they come up with clock for split sleeper.

Lol yeah but it’s funny how things ebb and flow. Period of chaos followed by a period of everything clicking just right. Nothing is ever normal. Whatever normal means.
