Douchebag In A Pickup Won’t Give A Truck Necessary Space To Complete Turn!

I think it's happened to all of us at sometime. I usually pop the brake. No better signal to say I'm not moving.

Something similar has happened to me twice so far. First time was in a little town at a little intersection in the Northeast. What I did was pull just far enough into the intersection that people knew what I was trying to do, but everyone could still get around on every side. Took about five turns of the light when an old man held up traffic and let me make the turn.

Second time, I had to get into the left turn lane to make the right turn. A fellow flatbedder knew what was up, and block the turn lane to give me space, and I lucked out when I turned right, because there wasn't anyone there.

Right turns like that SUCK, because you need so much room from so many people. You can only control traffic so much, and you can't control oncoming lanes without chancing a grid lock. My backup plan is to continue straight, turn around, and hit the intersection from the other direction.

 

We need laws that allow trucks to hit vehicles causing a delay

 

I was once working in an area known for drivers who had very aggressive big city ways about them. I had to get around the corner at a intersection with a set of pups and knew if I swung wide enough to do it right odds are someone was gonna pull up beside me on the right and stop that so knowing I would probably have to get someone to back up a little to make the turn. As soon as I made the request sure enough here comes the tantrum. Having worked as a yard spotter parking twenty or thirty trailers a shift sometimes in tight places. I found it rather amusing that the dude was gettn his panties in a wad over backing his car up two or three feet.

 

I watched the video and didn't notice any "chaos". All I saw was an idiot pickup truck who refused to not be an idiot. That is until law enforcement came along.

Suddenly, the game changed, and the idiot in the pickup truck could no longer continue his "I'm overcompensating for a small #####" shenanigans.

 

I hate to tell you guys but it is illegal to intimidate a 4 wheeler in that situation. You are supposed to wait till you have room to make the turn. Do that during a third party test and you just failed your road test. This is not to say I have never done it but FYI so you know.
