I have access to one. Want to pull open deck one day, but pulling van for now. I think I have the wheelbase for it (hmmm, need to ask that question in another thread too). Would like to go ahead and put it on and just use it for extra storage for now and be that much more ready when/if I make the leap.
Anyways, just wondering how much it might weigh and how much it might affect my scale outs.
Bonus question: what’s the distance from the kingpin to the corner of the trailer (general dryvan) to make sure I have clearance when jackknifed.
How much does a 3 door Sturdy-Lite Headache rack weigh…roughly

CAXPT, Big Road Skateboard, exhausted379 and 2 others Thank this. -
Jack knife your truck and trailer to about 45 degrees and then measure it yourself. Then you can see it with your own eyes.
Rubber duck kw, Isafarmboy, CAXPT and 6 others Thank this. -
That would be ideal, but I’m bobtail without trailer for a couple weeks during this little process.
But yes, I can find out kp placement and do some quick geometry math and figure it out.
And, no bonus points for suggesting alternative means of obtaining the answer to the bonus question.cke Thanks this. -

As it sits, it’s gonna be close, but I do have about 8” I can slide 5th wheel back some more. Right now it sits ideally right between the drives.
cke Thanks this. -
a 24 inch pin setting will be about 57 inches at the corner.CAXPT, Ruthless, cke and 1 other person Thank this. -
You can guesstimate if you know king pin depth. Figure for 102" wide and a specific depth. You don't even need the trailer.
