Well. I paid for my trailer today. $6012 was the final bill. Shoes, s-cams and bushings, slack adjusters, Chambers, New valve, repaired all lights, wheel seals, hub caps, bearing lube., new front plug in for lights, Federal inspection. Another $4000 in Tires, 2 wheels, 4 spacers, lug nuts, flaps and tubes. AND , I still have a 1979 Lowboy. They also tuned up the pony motor and got it running with a new battery. It left Iowa yesterday and it's coming to NC to my property with my Excavator on it. If it makes it , I'm gonna repair some rust issues on it and have it sandblasted and painted. I'm gonna have to keep this trailer for the rest of my life, to recoup what I have in it.

Sometimes thats the best option honestly. Fixing something from scratch may make it valueless to someone else but it ensures you end up with a good trailer. That said if you paint it and make it look good you could likely flip it for 30 or 40k right now. Maybe even 50k to the right buyer.

So why did you buy a old trailer that has sat along time then? Was the excavator free?
