There is a roof rack on the one pictured. Just need a cheap harbor freight tarp and some bungees.

The roof rack looks like where you put the last 2 palet of freight up on the top?

I'd run that for sure. They still believe in V8 power over there. There's a guy that runs around Baltimore in a Scania tri axle dump, thing sounds ferocious. If I'm correct, Scania and Mack had a partnership years back and that's how the E9 V8 came into production

I’ve driven these forward control units - amazing turning radius and engine access. Very bouncy due to its short chassis but a lot more torque because of it. In some countries they retrofit a sleeper behind the cab. Downside, in an accident - nothing between you and the hood.

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

I thought everyone hated cabovers ?

international and freight liner used to make some very nice ones , that were actually comfortable to drive .

I drove a international 9700 with the set back steer axle for almost two years . I thought it was plenty comfortable .

i think every driver who started driving in the 80s has spent some time in cabovers,
Some rode horrible and some were nice and smooth
It all depends on the design and the suspension .

no crumple zone , but that’s just makes you keep a proper following distance ….

I would buy one. Just to have the V8. It needs an extra axle and some float tires on front and a lot more ground clearance, but I’d definitely buy one.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

:laughing-guffaw::laughing3::laughing5:, you get the point, go back to Europe. This, like our "gun control" thread, should have us American truckers, if any, up in arms.
To clarify, this is America, home of the Dubja 9s and long nose Petes, not this. We went that route 50 years ago, remember? I hated every cabover I ever drove, and a testament to my driving ability, I never hit or killed anyone with that junk. A certain Transtar comes to mind. 1st, we have such different roads than Europe, I'm sure this is fine for some back alley in Italy, but come on. 2nd, it, like all cabovers, is a box, and will handle and use fuel like one. Not sure they have 80 mph headwinds in Greece( or wherever), but if this is the "next big thing" in semi trucks, it will be the last nail in the coffin for me,,Scania cabover, slapping back of head with rolled up newspaper, wasamatter you?
