Reefer is definitely a mixed bag today. Booked a load for later in the week from SW MO heading to south Alabama for $3.30 a mile. I have about 80 miles deadhead though but it’s only 20K pounds.
Hopefully I can get some corn or melons to make a decent round trip.
Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

I do not miss lumpers, grocery DCs, 1am appointments and wash out lines.
If a reefer load has got to go they can pay really well through.
Reefer was torture for me for though.

DAT are gouging hard on thier prices. You used to be able to favorite or block a broker and have live posts for the top tier price of 125 or something like that. Now, if you want those features you have to pay for the new top-tier offering that costs a whopping 280 dollars.
If I ever hit the lottery I'm starting a load board. One that doesn't gouge for simple features and is reasonably priced while being fully functional.Rideandrepair, NorthEastTrucker and RefMata Thank this. -
I for one am glad they are done. Dogecoin and Bitcoin both had really high quotes for hauling lumber loads under 300 miles. Then they couldn't even haul a full load because of all their mining supercomputers taking up space on the deck.
I'm waiting to hear back from a Landstar BCO who will do it for a cat tree and three cases of beefaroni.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -

The loads there pay more even after deadhead to same areas.
It's like Florida, loads so bad out of there that GA, AL pay more on same lane than out of Florida so I deadhead out.
I make sure that I get paid extra for the deadheading I know I will most likely do when going into the bad areas.77fib77, Rideandrepair, Vitkouski and 1 other person Thank this. -

I know this is a touchy subject but let's keep this thread in the main forum by not discussing politics. Nobody wants to see this dumped in Politics.
