Air pressure reading??

    Hi all.

    I’m studying for my air brake test and there’s one nagging detail I can’t figure out: during my 60 second air leak test, how on Earth am I supposed to measure 2 or 3 or 4 PSI on this thing??

    Just make sure the needle doesn’t move, much after you apply brakes and it settles down, be sure to apply constant pressure, more on peddle takes more air.

    You just have to recognize if the air pressure drops MORE than 2-4 PSI. The PSI is a well-maintained truck will show NO PSI drop. You are looking for NO drop, in most cases. If the truck has an air leak then the law allows the air leak if it doesn't exceed the 2-4 PSI allowance.

    You nailed it.
    Put the foot on the pedal, wait until everything has settled then start the clock. No further movement should happen after that.
