Why type of semitrailer and equipment works best for loading, unloading and hauling non-motorized vehicles? These include large carriages, stagecoaches, royal coaches, platform wagons and covered wagons. Stagecoaches can weigh up to 2,500 pounds. Some emergency roadside automobile transport trucks have a winch system and a tipping flat bed for pulling a disabled vehicle up or letting it roll off down to the ground. Is a system like this available in a class 8/9 semitrailer?

Could two horse-drawn carriages be loaded, transported and unloaded with one of those? I was thinking of loading two coaches tandem on the trailer deck.

I suspect you could, but it depends on their size and weight.

The dimensions of the items are the most important thing to know. A typical semi-truck with flatbed type trailers can only be 8-8.5 feet wide without getting permits and extra requirements. A typical flatbed trailer is 48 or 53 feet long and 8-8.5 feet wide. A reverse goose neck or RGN trailer is likely the best option, as RockinChair said above.

Also, the distance the items need to be moved will be a major factor in the cost of moving them.

I'm waiting for somebody to do the "don't put the cart before the horse" joke.

Most organizations who show use a modified covered car hauler with a sliding winch to pull in the rolling stock. How much? No idea.
