Moving a tipped over dump trailer

    I bought a quarter frame trailer that has been tipped over and is currently sitting upright. The auction company was originally going to load it for me…now that they have their money they won’t. I have the capability to pick it up and put it on a trailer but with 5+ dollar fuel moving it to the location isn’t cheap.
    Bottom line is how well does it go to hook onto something like this and pull it about 50 miles with plenty of backroads available. The arms are bent but not broken and the fifth wheel plate is ate about a 15 degree angle. Was thinking about hooking up to it sideways
    I am sure some one out there knows something about this please inform me

    We bring tipped over frameless trailers to Dover OH from Kansas City KS often. I wouldn’t think 50 miles is outta the questions at all, especially if you have backroads you can stay on. Without seeing what you’re dealing with, our shop would throw straps over it to keep the walls “true”, make sure the tarp isn’t going to be flopping and flapping and causing attention. Brace your 5th wheel plate, ratchet strap your tailgate closed, throw any lose bows in the trailer and hammer on it.

    That’s probably going to cost more than the trailer…and certainly more than a second trip to move the 950 in

    Throw some straps or better yet , chains over it , to help keep the frame and body together , and hit the road .
    No different than a tow truck hauling it .

    No worse than sending a 'sucked in' tanker out to the repair shop. Sometimes they would twist enough to remove the front axle tires -or- torch off the landing grear to get clearance but they always made it to the shop. Ain't nothing uglier than a shiny stainless steel wrapper looking like a crushed beer can...

    you might be surprised for what a non emergency tow goes for when they just want to keep a driver busy, IMO $5-600 to save a headache is worth it

    Well it made it to my shop this morning.
    Pulled it down the road like nothing was wrong and disappeared on the backroads until the last 1/4 mile if highway to the shop. It took some enginuity to get it connected and those arms are a lot stiffer than I expected I had to run one axle lock and power divider because the left drive tires were barely on the ground
