Got a 09:00 appt Tuesday morning in Vernon, CA. Looks to be pretty well in the interior of the LA metro area.
I'm coming across I-40 to I-15.
Where would y'all recommend staging and what time would you recommend leaving that staging location?
I'm already taking my Saturday break in Amarillo. So I should arrive to staging pretty early on Monday.
Thanks

Ta or petro in Ontario probably closest offhand.paid parking, but spend $20-$25 in store and its free or 60gal fuel iirc. I'd say get going by 5 or 6 at the latest from there.

If you have an excess of time, stage in Barstow. I like all the food choices available there. Parking is plentiful, too.
Three Sisters truck stop in Fontana (paid parking) is likely to have parking available, while the adjacent Flying J will not due its small size.
Street parking in this area is available, but you'll want to park in Ontario. The police in Fontana sometimes enforce the city's street parking rules.Another Canadian driver, Trucker61016, ‘Olhand and 2 others Thank this. -
Stay in Barstow. in the morning 4-5am come down to LA

Used to be able to park near the rail yards on Shiela ave but that was ages ago. Not sure Barstow is ideal with L.A. traffic the way it is. Call the receiver maybe you can hang there overnight.

I agree with others about the TA or Petro in Ontario as probably being your best option. Swift has a terminal in Jurupa Valley and if I'm coming in from the East, I stage at our terminal. If I'm coming in from the North, I'll stage at the TA in Wheelers Ridge. There are a few other options including a Flying J in Castaic that is closer, but it's always really full. I like that TA, so I stage from there. And, there is a McDonald's pretty close to Vernon that has parking for about 10 rigs, but it is usually full. I did manage to grab a spot there once after a load and while waiting on the info for my next load. But, I'd never count on being able to find a spot there. But, it is the closest place from Vernon I know of.
I don't care for that area, but occasionally have to get or take a load there. It's the job. Some places we go to are just a pain in the neck and we deal with it. Fortunately, I'm not there often enough to make an issue of it.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Do you want to make your life easier so park as close as you can to your destination.
There is a Burger King on the north west corner of Washington and Eastern in commerce, go one block to the west and park on the side street in front of the stop sign. I just use the spot about a month ago when I had to make a drop in Beverly Hills at 8 o’clock in the morning.
You can get breakfast and coffee at the Burger King in the morning and also use the bathroom. The spot will put you in less than 30 minutes away from your delivery.D.Tibbitt, Another Canadian driver, scott180 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Park next to the Tukatech building facing north.D.Tibbitt, Another Canadian driver, Flat Earth Trucker and 4 others Thank this. -
Another option, Pilot in Hesperia (I-15/hwy395 jct) Vernon is industrial area lots of truck traffic. Just plan on rolling 4-5 am because of traffic. Radio station KNX, am 1070 excellant traffic reports. Have fun !

Better yet. Run away and stay away from LA, you'll get sucked into the twilight zone...
