I didn't think they could step out and run. Here's what he needs if he's gonna.

Still can't beat a C500 or a Western Star. There's a reason they dominate the off-highway and heavy haul stuff out here.

One of my customers put a winch on his little 25 ton lowboy. Makes it nice for dragging dead excavators and such on his trailer.
I’ve hauled dead lizard trucks for him before, but was fortunate they had equipment to push it on my lowboy, which is not always the case for many out here…..CAXPT, AModelCat, kranky1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I usually start those kind of loads by explaining that I get paid by the hour and anything you do to help is going to reduce the cost. I was doing it pretty regularly for a construction equipment salvage yard but that’s mostly dried up now. I have a large winch that I want to mount to the back of my trailer but haven’t since I don’t have much use for it anymore. I do know that my truck with the detach neck hanging on it will pull a 40k crane on with low tires a 230c deere hoe and other fairly good size construction machines. I let the neck down against a railroad tie so the prop isn’t holding it and then use the d rings on top of it to attach my chains/ cables the truck will lift the front end off the ground in this situation which puts about 25k on the drives. On hard dry ground that will move a lot.
Another thing I am surprised no one mentioned is that pulling from the top of the track on a track machine doubles your force. I used that trick plenty of times…even one time got 100 bucks out of it when I moved a d7e with my kubota over grown lawnmower (it was on concrete and freewheeling) but still kinda impressiverabbiporkchop, beastr123 and CAXPT Thank this.
