You all need to count on taking 30 minutes to fuel each time you fuel. If you don't like that go to smaller fuel stops or fuel during off peak periods. The fuel islands don't belong to any of you. Other drivers have as much of a right to be at the fuel islands as you do. Period.

And if there's someone behind me while I'm fueling and I need to stretch out my fueling to get a 30 minute break (so fueling + off duty time equaling 30 minutes) then I'll take my sweet ### time at the fuel pump if there's someone behind me. A lot of times I can fuel in 10 minutes but I know if I pull up early, then the driver behind me is going to get pissy when I want to finish out my 30 minute break after I pulled up in front of him and he finishes fueling but I still have about 5 minutes left before I complete my 30 minute break. I'm not going to ruin a 30 minute break to save the driver behind me 5 minutes.

So, I'll just stretch out that 10 minute fueling time to 20 minutes by going as slow as possible, then I'll give myself 10 minutes after I pull up and I'll go inside and use the bathroom and do whatever else I need to do. That way I assure myself of getting my 30 minute break in peace without the driver behind me complaining or raising a scene.

This is actually responsible on my end because I'm not taking a parking spot that another driver might need towards the end of the day. So if you think about it the drivers posting in this thread who want drivers to move out of the fuel island right after they finish fueling, you guys are really the irresponsible ones for wanting a driver who is not stopping for the night to take another drivers parking spot. That's the way I look at it. And if it's the middle of the day, oh well. You'll be alright if you have to wait another 10 minutes for the driver in front of you to finish his break. Not a huge deal.

PS - At nighttime during off peak periods I take 45 minute showers and 30 minute naps at the fuel island all the time. I don't care, I'm not pulling into a spot when there's either no spots avaliable or only a few spots avaliable that other drivers who are stopping for the night might need. I'm not going to not shower or not take a nap out of some kind of dumb "principle" of "always pull up and park after fueling".

    Lol no

So you know you're burning up other people's time and don't give a ####, that's about normal for today. Does the name "fuel island" not give you a clue?

If everyone had this mentality. Only 100 trucks would be able to fuel per day at a pilot. The supply chain would fail

You're a self entitled meme... One day you'll be on an extended break in the hospital when the driver waiting behind you gets out and beats the hell out of you.

Now most of the tourists are relaxing towing gooseneck trailers at 85mph and out of the way for the most part. I worry more about getting around 3 or 4 hammer heads in freight trucks running 20’ from one another than rv’s.

And those same hammer heads run slow enough to be in the way and too fast to just jump out and blow their doors off quick.

That’s the big frustration right there. A lot of the places we run you barely have enough sight lines to be able to get around one truck let alone a string of them. Out west we just drive away from them. My electronics have the limiter set, but so is the driver rewards. They run wide open.
