WallyWorld has difficulty hiring. They’re too anal. They told me it’s because they have deep pockets. Must be careful.
I say they’re creating unsafe drivers who can’t make any decisions. You must be decisive as a driver.
I drove wallyworld for Crete. I just barely made it in through a winter storm. I was sitting in front of trailer doing paperwork. Had a driver walk up. Said: I see you just got in. I did too. It’s bad out there. I have a load to take. You think I should? … I told him no. You’re in now. You’re safe. Sit it out. … This conversation took place with him using my door to shield him with snow blowing in.
Another… Sitting in front of trailer again. Driver asks me. Can you please move? I have the trailer next to you. We’re not allowed to back in with you next to it.
How long before Swift replaces Walmart drivers‽

And I don’t think swift or anyone is going to take over WallyWorld. They have contracts at different DC’s with different carriers. I do know CR England lost one DC because they couldn’t get the job done.

A friend of mine retired from the Red Bluff DC after thirty years with WalMart. He said that what WM does is keep rotating the carriers, keep them bidding down the costs, keep the service level up, around and around and around. It keeps costs down. He said the longest he'd ever seen an outside carrier stay was 1 1/2 years in Porterville. A few years later they'd worked their way through all the megas and were back to the one he told me about.
WalMart drivers...does this sound familiar to you?bryan21384, Another Canadian driver and truckdriver31 Thank this. -

I say let Walmart hire their own drivers to take their own loads.
They are hard to deal with.
In my early days I helped out on some of those accounts. It wasn't long before I refused any of that.
It was the same with Target accounts.Geekonthestreet, Another Canadian driver and truckdriver31 Thank this. -
