I hardly post on here or anywhere anymore, tired of the bravado and drama.
But my god, it really does seem like this Country is coming apart at the seams if this is what a thread in a Trucking forum leads to. Cant get away from it anywhere anymore it seems..
What the hell are we leaving for our Children.

I don't disagree. I think sometimes people die on the wrong hill, in this he literally did. So many people do things without thinking. That may be the common denominator in this whole situation. I don't think neither side put in a lot of thought. It was all pure reaction both ways. I feel like this whole thing didn't have to go the way it did. I'm interested to see how everything plays out though.

I'm sure you were young and done stupid things. You may or may not have got caught. Does that mean your parents raised you poorly? If you say yes, your parents would probably take great offense to that and justifiably so. I did stupid things myself and got caught repeatedly lol. I refuse to allow that to be an indictment on how my mother raised me. I think that's unfair. Unless the young man's mother was strung out or selling ### on the street, I don't even think that should be a conversation. Once you become a certain age, you can't blame the parents in my view. He was 25. He'd been grown for a while. That's a man there, albeit a young man, but he's been in the real world enough to have an idea how this works.

Oh give me a break. Then in that case half of our children or more are in trouble. In this era it is just as many children if not more, coming from fatherless homes or broken homes. Now we have children being raised by same sex couples. So if a child is being raised by 2 lesbians they are going to be a menace to society? Come on. There are lots of people that came from fatherless homes and are contributing to society just fine. I can't understand how folks can talk so much about personal responsibility, then give this out to people. I'm all for both parents being involved in a child's life. Not everyone will be that fortunate and sometimes people have to learn to work with cards dealt. Nowadays when people foul up, it's because they were depressed, have adhd, anxiety etc. Everyone seems to need counseling or is diagnosed with some mental issue these days. I can't help but wonder if they got diagnosed depressed because they had a bad day or if they legit have chemical imbalances. Something goes wrong in one's life and blame it on not having a dad... if those 2 instances aren't propaganda, I don't know what is. That's just too easy of a cop out for my liking. Now young kids can go use that at school when they act up in class, and then the principal sends them to the guidance counselor, without any consequences. My son tried that one time and his mom went along with it, and it aggravated me to the same intensity. I may not be physically there every day, but it ain't like I'm not involved. I will not allow his head to even get fixed to think that because he is surrounded by too many good people outside his mother and me.

In a way you're making their point for them. When people point out the lack of a two parent household I also take that to mean a lack of other positive influences. Also a father that is not in the home but chooses to be a active and positive influence is also not taken into consideration in this type of comment because that is still two parents.
