American cities going to #### due to gangs, drugs, fatherless homes,.no work ethic or morals, 51 shootings and double digit murders in NY and 50 something shootings in Chicago and double digit murders there over the fourth of July weekend.. Nevermind that... all this about a criminal who runs from the police. A shot was fired from the car before he fled on foot with a mask on and he stops to turn around and gets shot by the police..un freaking believable...

You're exactly right. I certainly alluded to that myself. That's the reason why folks in low income communities run from the law when it's a routine stop. It's a lot more good officers than bad, but it's been enough bad to tarnish their image. Neither side has always helped themselves in my estimation.

Crime is big in low income neighborhoods because that’s where the criminals live and operate. It’s certainly not because all is well and you have a handful of guys terrorizing everyone. This isn’t rocket science. It’s literally shooting fish in a barrel when going to these neighborhoods. Blond folded and spun around six times grab the first person near you and they have a criminal record and probably did something illegal in the past month. Its that easy and it’s that prevelant. And it’s that sad.

And let’s simplify all of this because we have got off in the weeds. If something about your actions or your vehicle isn’t illegal then your chances of a police encounter are slim to none.

If the so called innocent but down trodden people would move even a few miles outside of the area, their lives would drastically improve. It happens right across the street from me all the time. You are still close to the city for whatever was so important to keep you there and rent is the same. Public transit still available. If you own a car, not much more of a commute to a job.

Stop with the excuses and be an effing adult!!!!!!!

It's not fantasy, it is real world.

Alvin Johnson lied under oath, multiple times to protect Ronald Watts. He was promoted, outside of normal procedures and is now retiring with full pension.

The captain who informed Watts he was under investigation and destroyed evidence faced no repercussions.

6 other officers signed reports that they knew to be fabrications. They remain on CPDs payroll.

Yet you say there is only 1 bad apple.

Big difference between theft and outright murder.
    Apples to oranges.

And incidentally in some cases the whole company has been arrested and blamed

I agree with most of this.

I grew up with both parents. Father was the son of a surgeon, mother the daughter of an alcoholic. Both of my parents grew up with two parents. My dad raised properly, my mother raised poor white trash with a lot of crap. She somehow didn’t take the path that most of her siblings did.

My dad was the discipline. My mother was the pushover. It didn’t work well because I was afraid of my father and my mom would hide everything we did from him. She also had nothing growing up so thought her own kids should be free…..bad idea. Between 12-14 years old, I was very independent and both of them just kinda took a backseat and I was my own boss. Bad idea. They both sucked as parents, but didn’t have to be because they both knew better and dad was raised better. I don’t know what happened.

I do know I have been arrested a few times. Had that many more police interactions. I owned all of them as they happened. I had to force a state trooper to cuff me. He didn’t want to. I had my hands up before he rounded the corner. Under the influence of alcohol with a bloody hand from putting a brick through the door window to break into my ex’s apartment hallway. Gun laying beside me. I confessed before he investigated. Not once till the day I was off probation did I ever make an excuse or blame anyone or anything. It was always I did it and I am sorry. I avoided prison because I had no record and a concealed carry permit. It was a felony but due to those two important things, all was reduced to the highest misdemeanors possible. Quite a few actually.

Now to something you said. Starting at the age of 25-26 I started telling both my parents how the messed up. Told my dad he should have beat my rear waaaaaay longer than he did. Tell my mom to this day how she messed up. She still takes no responsibility. She’s kinda off in left field anyhow. Oh well.

Now that I have my own kids and have helped raise others, I see the absolute huge gigantic importance of parental roles in development and growing that will affect them the rest of their lives. It has definitely made me even more angry and cold towards crappy parents , excuse makers.
