The OM booked us on some loads. Fortunately we're not leaving until Sunday.

So whilst I get the Chamaro serviced ( currently ), do laundry, and other human stuff, The OM shall continue to be Holiday Tabby.

To jump into the whole 'camper' thing.

The Hazul and I talked it over.

2 weeks of paid vacation a year.
    14 days.

Now if we spent those 14 days @ $100 a night in a decent hotel with a bar, TV, maid service, and "breakfast buffet" it would cost, as one of reasonable intelligence might think, roughly $1400.

Now, if we took that money and invested it in a $50,000 camper, it would take 35.71 years of sleeping in it before we broke even.
On the other hand, were we to sleep in a $200 a night hotel, it would be something around half.

My point is this; you do with your money as you see fit and makes you happy. Be happy with your 4 wheelers, motorcycles, boats, campers, and whatnot, BUT, if some RV salesman tries to sell you a camper claiming it will save you money, run far away.

And, PS, the OP (can't remember who it was) looks like he's parked in a pretty sweet place. That said, 99% of the RV's I see parked are in places I wouldn't recommend.

. The dew point is the indicator for me has to be at least 25 degrees below ambient temperature 40 degrees is ideal.

    Ok.

Serious question and did I do right?
or did i f it up again?

Upon entering the place, this... this family with 3 kids... some dude and his ole lady came up with the same ole sob story, dunno if it’s story or real, but kids looked hungry, back to this a bit later.

Anyway, dude didn’t say much, neither well dressed, but she said they we on way back home from one of them a sister blah blah, yada yada, no gas.
I am in good mood, so I come to compromise way out.

I’m not going to give you money for fuel, that’s just you guys being a idiot, leaving home without a plan or money to get back.
But i was going to eat here at Workman’s Ozark AR.

So my deal, “I’m not feeding you two, y’all should’ve known better, but kids, one 10ish others 5-8ish, can eat whatever they want, y’all can come in with them or whatever you want, but I’m not feeding you or taking you to raise, if you try to eat taking food from the kids, you’re going to be paying the bill or washing dishes or whatever this place requires.

So the 3 kids ate like it’s been a day or so,
I paid, back out in my truck, So am I still a jerk?
    or a somewhat good samaritan?

I think you got that pretty well summed up there Opus.

Need to add one more variable into the mix though... Space rental

Many RV camping places charge a per night fee to park there.

KOA Campground Cost Averages & Examples for All 50 States - RV Troop

At $40 to $150 per night to park near a convenience store, it would be easy to double that number of years to payoff........

And that is assuming you do not have to pay a storage fee near home for when it is not in use.

To my eyes...... No shame in that game.

You got the kids taken care of without involving Protective (indoctrination) Services. Which rates pretty high on my Morality chart.

And basically told the parents to plan ahead/ learn to fish (if you wanna get biblical). Which also rates high.

Sorry Judge, Looks like you did it right by my book.
