If you listen long enough you can hear just about anything. I can't speak for the entire industry but in our area the growers formed a marketing co-op several years ago. We haven't experienced any of the logistic problems mentioned in the article
No problem finding trucks, and no problem finding carriers.

Trust me...California almonds are being shipped. I service a natural food business, and they're getting almonds up their butt and out both ears.

Like anytime shipping comes up, they arn't really complaining that they can't find shippers. They are complaining they can't find shippers willing to run for $1.00 / mile or some absurdly low number like that.
