I ve been having problems with steering shudder and trembling on my 5 month old truck and the peterbilt rep and techs are saying its normal what i pretty much know its not . Attached a few videos for you guys. The quality of these trucks have gone to #### quality and so are the techs.

Does the truck shake too or no?

    Wheel bearings set properly?

Wonder if it needs another degree or 2 of caster?

@Heavyd is pretty good with alignment stuff if I remember it right.

No truck shake . Alignment done a month ago . Wheel balancing done a week ago . Only does this on rough road and the steering gets stiff when it shakes like that . Kinda feel like no power steering when it shudders

Almost like you have some bump steer or something. I’d recommend getting ahold of Chad at Alignment Solutions in KC. My 2017 579 was sort of like what you’re describing, and he put wedges in and it took care of it. My 2022 579 isn’t having the issue you’re having.

Steering with one finger? It's a semi, not a BMW, us old farts drove trucks that shook so bad, you had to have the death grip on the wheel. I know, who cares, grandpa, I didn't see anything wrong in those videos, sorry.

i know that on 4 wheelers (like my new toyota, and many others for like about the past 10-20 years now), the power steering is electronically controlled by the 'puter, to cut back on how much assistance is needed.

on a bumpy road, maybe yours is 'puter controlled as well, and it cuts back on the assistance so that you can feel the road, and have better control?

on smooth roads, again, you are going straight, the 'puter cuts back on how much assistance is needed, and what you are feeling is the ripples on the pavement..????

cuz after 48 years of the road like me, i do not "see" that much of an issue.

Pretty sure he didn’t spend $180k so he could feel like he’s driving a 50 year old truck. I know I didn’t.
