What kind of mileage were you getting pulling the other cattle wagon? I would think you would have a little improvement with a reduced gap between the sleeper and the trailer nose. That Ultraloft should throw some of that air up over the top of the trailer. I never ran gears with that ratio so I cannot provide an educated answer as to their impact.

Pulling those flat fronted parachutes is never too great on the mileage.

I was also running 11R24.5 tires. Are you running low pro 22.5 tires?

My flattop FLD was 280” wheelbase and I want to say I was at 4.7 or so when I got rid of it. My W9 was 280” with the tall bunk and a whale tail and I was low 5’s with that one. Part of me wants to try it and see if I can get high 6’s or 7 just out of curiosity.

Well then have at it and let us know the results.

If you are loading sale barn to feedlot and running paved roads and running with the door slammers you may pull it off. The question is, would you be content running 62-65 mph and would the time on the trailer be less or more?

Always been a fan of CAT... We had 2 identically speced trucks, both the same years, everything the same... But one had a 525 Cummins, the other a 525 CAT. That CAT would out pull that cummins every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

6TS is an E. If you’re going to have an electric Cat an E is the one you want. The engine itself is near indestructible and for an electronic they’re painless. My E’s are 5EK’s, but the only thing I've ever had #### up on those is cam position sensors. The two I’ve got with a B and C in them have fuel ratio controller diaphragms in the glove box, the two E’s have cam position sensors kind of thing.

Brace yourself. That engine won’t go to anywhere near full fuel rate until you load the living #### out of it. I’ve seen the same behavior from E’s and a BXS Acert. When I first got the trucks a 5EK with a b-train hooked to it at 139,000lbs would drive away from the other one with a tridem at 109,000lbs. They’re all injectored up and messed with some now, but they’re running Cat files and they still behave the same way, the heavier you load them the harder they pull. I haven’t found the end of them yet and I’ve had them as heavy as 186,000 and change. They just keep coming up with more power.
