    PrePass.

I once got the bypass on Drivewyze but pulled in anyway because the sign said to.
I went inside to ask and he said to follow the Drivewyze. That was in MN.

And most signs say to follow the PrePass in-cab signal.

They don't have to, in most states. Just like they don't have to prove a parking ticket was put under your windshield.

    Imagine this scenario:
You were stationed at Norkfolk, VA for few months as you were going through discharge after 24 years in submarines. You buy a car, get it registered etc, then after discharge drive home to momma and "the farm" in MI. After 2 years you learn that a 30 acre farm costs more to run than it earns, so you lease out your land and run a profit for two years, but have nothing to do. Rather than be a barfly you get your CDL and hire on at Schneider. You get assigned Roger as your trainer, and head from GB to Stuarts Draft, VA for the first load, then reload with an unbalanced load - 28k on the drives, 34k on the tandems at the 43 foot mark heading down to Atlanta. You get pulled into the Roanoke scale and called around back for a level 1. Everything is fine until you head inside for the paperwork check. Officer runs your license and tells you that your driving privileges are suspended in VA for non payment of fines. The officer is nice and doesn't write you a ticket, due in no small part to your status as a veteran and being with a company trainer, and lets Roger drive out. Turns out you got a parking ticket that you "didn't know about" (bs, you knew you were leaving the state shortly and wouldn't be back).
Does that sound oddly specific? Because that's what happened circa 2013. If he hadn't been with a trainer he would have been put OOS, and frankly I think it was his retried veteran status that made the difference.

My point is simplicity in itself - ignore citations at your peril. Before you toss it in the trash, talk to a lawyer. And never assume "I'll never be back here, so who cares".

Not saying they can't do it. Around here they make you pay the fine before you can renew your license or registrstion. So they're for sure going to see that money in 12 months as a worst case scenario. Willing to bet you could get it overturned in court or at least reduced.

Not disagreeing, my one and only point in this thread is "just toss it in the trash" is a REALLY bad idea in most states.

That one time. When I got a parking meter ticket in the mail. $.25.

A year later. The constable showed up to collect $140.

Parking tickets written by an officer in person . And a ticket in the mail from a speed camera are 2 completely different things. 1 can be enforced the other one can't.

you might want to rethink that. They states enacted laws. Making them legal. Just like how here in FL toll enforcement by plate.

Red light running: Automated enforcement laws

I still say its BS. I know 100% the postal service here sucks. Stuff comes in several weeks late all the time.

If it wasn't a cash grab, they'd send it registered mail so there's no dispute whether it was received or not.
