one thing that bothered me about season 1 is how they made Jay (Mr heavy haul) look dumb when he was pulling that dryvan on that special mission and he didn’t know how to slide his trailer axles .I would have liked to have seen T.J Tilcox come back for more seasons but he turned it down

Season 2 wasn't bad, would have liked to have seen more of the Mullen crew featured, same with guys like Eric Dufresne. They may have not brought the drama to the show the producers liked but they were professional and dang good at what they do.

I met TJ a few years ago when we were delivering at the same place, he seemed a thoroughly nice bloke. He mentioned he'd taken up with a production assistant in Yellowknife who he eventually married, and the production company were very negative indeed about it. Seems he was so angry with their attitude when they offered him a much higher rate if he'd go back for series 3 he said no on principle.
He certainly loved driving a truck, his wife and daughter were living in L.A. and he'd gone back to work for an outfit in Canada as he missed otr too much.

    CHALLENGES:
Stop rolling up yer windows when you shut down for sleep time in yer truck, especially when raining or snowing.
Listen to music YOU HATE while driving a good long trip.
Park for an HOUR at a fuel island, at a crowded truck stop, for no discernible reason.
Drive slower than normal between pick up and delivery and take other routes to increase the journey.
Stay out of Top Gear on any highway and stay under the top limit in grannie lane.

Lots of Challenging Things to do while not leaving the Family or leaving for a wee bit of time.

What about these ideas "keeping you busy with/without Truck Driving and some "time away from home":

    LOG TRUCK DRIVER?
    Logger or Tree Cutting?
    Search & Rescue?
    Bouncer?
    Truck/Bus/Trailer Mechanic?
    House/Condo Construction?
    Pouring Cement?
    Asphalt paving?
    Ski Lift Operator or Maintenance?
    Bus Driver = options.

I drove the same routes for 8+ years and I was NEVER BORED.
    EVERY DAY = SOMETHING NEW!!

    CHEERS!!

It seems I made a mistake. I was silly enough to ask for help. I received in return an sol attitude and was told to go somewhere else. And to top it off my post was hijacked by folks talking about a TV show. Not 1 person asked about my experience. Who cares. Right.

It happens. Every thread on this site goes off topic all the time. Just have to roll with it.

Posts 7,9,10,11,14,15,16,17,18 were pretty useful and answered your request for help.
Those posts told you what to do, what you need to have and if it's worth the effort to even apply.
Unless you go to Alaska to work there, you'll need a work visa to drive on Canadian Ice Roads.
Even if you get it by some miracle, the chance you'll be disappointed is very high.
Ever heard the expression: That juice is not worth the squeeze?
This is Canada today, my friend.

Sorry to read that post "super dump driver". IF You had INITIALLY Offered Some Of Your Experience(s), You May Well Have Garnered More Profound Responses.....or maybe not.
Another thing about Canada that I found out in early 2000, IF one has A certain Disqualifying Offence/Offense in the U.S.A., like a Class C D.W.I., such is a FELONY in Canada and required submitting an application for a Premiers Permit along with, at the time, a $250.00 NON RETURNABLE Fee.
I never went to Canada, nor did I travel into all Lower 48 States yet I had MANY CHALLENGES that kept away the "BOREDOM".
    CHEERS!!
