I need to work on my smoked chicken game, but these were just thrown in the oven for me (wife and kids went to dinner with in-laws tonight). Oven at 375ish for 40ish minutes. Internals temps ranged from 165-180. Good enough.

When I’m eating like this, I’m not real picky. I mean, I eat for pleasure normally, but when I’m in full-on keto mode I truly look at meals like fuel and it’s almost just something I do in the day like taking a shower.

But I’ll put that effort mentioned the next time I’m smoking chicken. Thanks

Hey - what are those vacuum looking bags you put the chicken in?

Vacuum sealer. The bags come in a big roll. I get the 11” wide roll and cut em to size (about 10”x5.5”). I have a cutting/sealing session when I open the box up. You can buy them precut in quart size I think, and for a lot cheaper on Amazon than the name brand. But I tend to stick to the name brands (ziploc, FoodSaver).

    I'll check that out, thanks.

Does it remove all air better than regular squishing with zip lock bags?

I’m not sure about that smoker for losing weight. I know when I had my BBQ at least half of everything came of burnt and crappy. Since I’ve gotten my Pellet smoker everything comes off amazing and I haven’t thrown anything away. I think I need a class action suit against Traeger for making me gain 20 lbs.
Good luck finding the new you and try not to be too pissed when you need all new clothes.

Most definitely. My 11yo boy was hanging around when I was sealing the chicken and usually likes to vacuum seal some random item. That’s a pair of socks. Hard to tell from the pick, but that’s a solid cotton head thumper that’ll leave a welt on your onion.

But yes, you can never remove all the air from a regular ziploc bag, and besides those bags are actually “breathable”. If I take meat on the road, I still trust the meat in the vacuum bags in my fridge a week in. Ziploc bags, not so much.

But I would vacuum seal fresh venison, freeze it, and still fresh about a year later. The smallest amount of air is the enemy.

But I just do this because it’s what I know, being a hunter and saving game for long stretches.

And just for fun, here’s my daughter’s snoopy doll we sealed a couple months ago…

I can see this in the 'Shark Tank' here in a few months time, with some guy proposing a business model of saving ex-girlfriends panties, and selling them on line.

Wait - I went too far.

To my defense, it is 105 degrees in Kaufman, TX - and . . . I've got my pink panties on, and ready to go to bed

    :)

Been there done that. Back in ‘19 when I lost that big weight, had to buy all new stuff.
