They don’t make a 2018 freightliner Columbia- inframe these days on an isx15 dd15 is upwards of $45k
2018 should have around 500k miles - wouldn’t need an inframe unless it was abused
Power wash it down - see where the leaks coming from - could just be something as simple as a seal

There are so many red flags I don't know where to start.
A second opinion is a must before you drop a dime into it. If the second shop concurs, sell the truck for whatever you can and get a company job. If your finances aren't strong enough to get a $25k loan for less than 30%, it is unlikely you'll survive in the current environment with a less than reliable truck.
If you get out now, you'll still have money in the bank and lots of options. If you drop $25k and take a month off for the repairs you'll be digging a hole that will be tough to get out of.
Good luck.blairandgretchen, truckdriver31, F4T6UY and 1 other person Thank this. -
Also, depending where you are located, and I don’t know pricing and availability in todays climate, but I know for a fact 2 years ago a GM inframe kit was going for about $4500, and I knew of 2 different mechanics in south Texas that do it for less than $3k labor. And they’ve done hundreds of Detroits between them over the years.
I only say this to let you know there are options other than the Freightliner dealership. Keep looking.
Detroits are one of the easier engines to do and depending where you are, you can throw a rock in any direction and hit somebody that can do it.Last edited: May 11, 2022

If you don't own it why are you spending money to in frame it ?Aamcotrans, Vampire, truckdriver31 and 4 others Thank this. -
Borrowing money to fix a truck is a horrible idea. Borrowing any amount of money at 30+% is the worst thing you can do, worse than telling the bank to come get their truck even.
Vampire, blairandgretchen, truckdriver31 and 2 others Thank this. -
I know a shop in Columbus. 4k labor. You provide kit. They only do detriots. Nothing elseVampire, blairandgretchen, truckdriver31 and 3 others Thank this. -
IDK,,$25g's buys a lot of oil. I don't mean to be rude, but what did you expect from a financially strapped dealer? If it's leaking that badly,it should be pretty obvious where it's coming from, burning oil would be a lot harder to find. Find a small shop, ( that the owner probably quit a dealer to start their own shop) stay away from the dealer!
Vampire, truckdriver31, Rubber duck kw and 4 others Thank this. -

How can a leak be an In frame?
You need a second opinion, and not a dealer. The ice thing about the 60series is there are LOTS of independent shops that know these engines, and it's easy to ask and find one on here that does good work. Let everyone know where you are and you will get some recommendations for where to take it for a second opinion. I would not take it to a dealer. These days the dealers (mostly) can only do what the laptop says and replace parts.
