JBS out of Greeley, CO may hire drivers right out of school.

I worked for McLane out of Longmont for a year and a half. I wouldn't send my worst enemy there.

Sometimes you have to start somewhere, even if it's far less than ideal.

Running up and down a ramp with your partner while you're in the sleeper, spotting him as you back into the parking lots of busy 7/11s off of Denver Street, dealing with customers who will not do their jobs so you can do yours, and managemt who never has your back even when you follow policy.

No there's a reason they have huge sign-on bonuses.

Again, have to start somewhere. Not all of us have the pick of the litter. Didn't work for you. Obviously the company works for some people, otherwise they would not have any employees. I am not saying this doesn't mean it can't be a less-than-desireable work environment. I am saying that it's a large company that has a decent amount of success in doing business, and it retains enough employees to keep doing business. Didn't work for you, but someone else may see it as the opportunity he/she needs.

Can you PM me with the contact info. I don't have enough posts to PM you for the info.

Also, are you just rattling off company names in general without knowing for sure? Cause I am looking at some of these that you posted and one doesn't have any career/job postings on their website at all, another isn't hiring in Colorado right now, and another doesn't give any information that they take new CDL's, they don't list the pay, and just want you to apply in general.

I don't want to waste time filling out lengthy applications to only find out at a later point after a recruiter starts bugging me that they don't accept people with less than 6 months like I find with most jobs listed on Indeed. I also don't want to give out my contact information unless I absolutely have to with hopes of a strong lead or knowing for sure. Otherwise, you start getting contacted by recruiters that don't pay attention to detail, and contact you after the company has already told you they won't accept you, and start talking to you like this is your first rodeo with them as they do cold calls from some contact database. They also blow your phone up calling you until you answer and if you don't answer they don't leave voice mail only to keep blowing up your phone until you do answer. That's been my short experience since graduating from CDL school and applying for jobs on indeed.

I have to start applying again in the Denver area as the job I was supposed to start tomorrow seems to be possible false hope and lots of promises, only to find out at the last minute tonight it's postponed for a few weeks. I am not sure I can trust it at all now. My feelings, in general, are that you can't trust anyone and already starting off to a bad start from what I have seen, read, and experienced to date.

This one has terrible google reviews. Same with DHL. Do you guys just list anything that is hiring or possibly hiring?

This is a pretty strong statement. Thank you for your honesty. I rather hear people's real experiences rather than just work anywhere just because we have to start somewhere as someone else said. That's not even logical to me. There are a lot of companies out there that have employees, and lots of them, often taking advantage of folks that can't find work elsewhere for one reason or another, or treat people as if they are expendable because they can for whatever logistical reason. I also wouldn't send people to go work for those types of places just because you have to start somewhere kind of thinking.

Google reviews is probably the worst way to get an accurate idea as to the worth of a company. A much more accurate picture is to talk to current drivers with the company you are considering. All trucks have to fuel, so you can hang out for a bit at a truck stop talk to drivers of the company you are considering. Just an idea.

    Chinatown Thanks this.

He just maintains a list of companies, requirements, and hiring areas. Those criteria change on a regular basis, depending upon the current environment. He's no corporate shill, just helping other drivers by providing information.

As for hiring requirements, many times the website is not up to date. I know that until they gave me access to update our website, the requirements and available positions were perpetually out of date.
Never look at a truck company's googl reviews. The only people who would ever think to leave a google review would be the disgruntled ones who were likely terminated. YRC is a union position, with that comes extra benefits and protections.
If you want real experiences, go to the truck stop and talk to actual drivers for the companies in your area. Once again, online reviews are not really accurate. Find a company and search the name here, you just might learn a thing or two from their actual drivers. @WesternPlains gave you the name of the company employing him, and he's really happy there. That's a good place to start snooping around.

As for giving out contact information, here's your dilemma: This information provided by the application process will allow the employer to see if you meet their criteria. Without it, the employer won't even waste any time/money on you. Give the info to companies, though, not hiring services like Tenstreet themselves, Jobs In Trucks, All Truck Jobs, Hire Master, etc. *That's* how you get bombarded on the phone and email for eternity. Fill out the Intelliapp from the company's website and go from there.
