I think you have it all wrong. You have that OTR mentality. LTL is an entire different animal. Ltl places is all terminal to terminal drop and hook. When you make high on the mile you don’t need 8000 miles a week. Most of the equipment in LTL is no where close to otr. They buy bare bones trucks. It’s about the $ not do you have chrome rims etc.

For what you’re looking for R&L will suit you better. They have a fridge already in the truck and an inverter. Has Bose seat even heated and cooled. Truck wash at almost all bigger terminals.

They all raise pay just one time a year. Why not get on at R&L run team and when your done both of you switch to either p&d or linehaul and run solo go home every day. P&d guys do pretty good at R&L. Again they ain’t the highest pay but they are a laid back place with pretty good equipment. Good benefits and retirement.

I work for fedex so its all linehaul im very aware of how linehaul works i do it everyday. Now p and d i dont like going to customers i like terminal to terminal better.. yeah im not asking for a pete long nose with 15 speed lol just need a fridge and an inverter lol that bare bone trucks is for two strangers partner together who want to run till the wheels fall off lol. I want to be some what comfortable while i do my 5 days out lol..

Not to brag but i have a beautiful wife and trucker are creepers even if she was delivering a load solo they would bother her and stare as if they are undressing her and start smiling and try to flirt with corny pick up lines they will do it even when im in the front seat its ridiculous but i cant go fighting every driver just cause there creepy they need to be punched but i cant do that obviously ill lose my job and get arrested. But yeah from what your saying r and l is a better fit Over od and estes. We got into trucking to run teams and work together so thats just our choice. I never wanted to run solo i know sounds weird but i aint going to lie ill admit ive made some mistakes and made some wrong turns and freaked out and im not very good with directions before trucking so my wife is amazing with directions so having that helps having two set of eyes helps too make sure we can find the places and not hit anything we run as a true team. Yes im actually a great driver and i can back by myself just fine it just helps having extra eyes for tight spots etc.. solo just isnt for me again sounds weird but either is otr staying out for 4-6 weeks that aint me either

Today was GF birthday. I had reservations and just called off work. Nobody questioned me or threatened to fire me. They just said "ok, see you tomorrow."

Where do you work? Ketchup and mustard a.k.a. estes? Thats always nice cause literally my wifes bday is this Saturday and i told my boss im taking it off and he said okay shouldn't be a problem. Again i work for fedex contractor. Thats one good thing bout working for feded contractor is that if you run wild you can pretty much create your own schedule and go on hometime whenever you want .. but not enough miles so the pay could be way better for teams.. i need more money ...

Honestly i aint going to lie. I cant take credit for this i read a guy call estes ketchup and mustard in a comment section on a youtube video. I thought it was hilarious and started hysterically laughing instantly because the way he said it i instantly knew what and who he was talking about and it just made sense. Ever since then i know them by ketchup and mustard now even my wife says ohh look there goes ketchup and mustard and i know exactly what she is referring too its funny. But its no pun intended on estes as a company i know there an excellent company just bad choice in color combinations. But hey its there branding and everyone knows who they are based upon there color scheme so it was actually brilliant in the end.
