Why do you ups drivers act so arrogant and get so defensive about ups. You missed my point completely i like somethings about a union but i disagree with them more then i agree. What i agree with is them getting employees good benefits, retirement, and pay people what there worth thats about all i agree with but those are usually all anybody really cares about with a job anyways. I have no problem working at ups i just cant work starting at the bottom at the dock making 300$ a week i have a house payment and bills that wont even pay my bills.. it would be delightful to get hired off the street and im glad you got hired i think thats an amazing opportunity that i wouldn't even think twice again for the money.. its all good i dont plan to truck much longer so just trying to go out on top with a bang.. again i have an exit strategy so ill be fine just will take some time.

In my area i dont think i stand a chance at getting hired off the street straight to team nor even a feeder driver. But ill keep an eye out and see what i can get into.. but until that time comes if it ever does i still have to work somewhere.

I ran out of Nashville. You do deal with central direct. But when a bid run is posted you sign it from your home terminal. They kept us moving. I ran wild for a month. I then got a bid from Nashville to LA to Seattle to KCK then it was normally to ATL to Dallas back to Nashville. Left Sunday night at 6pm back home 3am fri. If you run and don’t bytch you won’t have an issue with central dispatch. When we were wild we called them 1 hour out to let them know we were coming in and they had us set up when we got there. Drop hook go. We showered daily at afternoon switch out. I mean we didn’t mess around . You don’t have time to go watch a movie and hit the mall but you have time to shower and stuff like that. It was a good gig. Had no issues out of Nashville and central kept us rolling. Never seem the northeast either. Maybe they did turn them down but ours ran 75.

Ups ground don’t have dock work. It’s packages like Fedex. There is no ups freight anymore

Why not find a better contractor in ground? Just a matter of swapping trucks to the new guy

you gotta go through randy s in Wilmington. I won’t lie he can be a prick. He won’t give you off if a bunch of teams are off already you are right about that. But if you gave him plenty time he will pencil you in. I wasn’t in it for the long haul. I was waiting for her to graduate then I did what you did and left. Between Estes and RL ltl not really my flavor of koolaid.

Sounds like a fair straight forward gig then . Someone said some trucks go 75 some 72mph. Oh yeah nah ive never stopped to watch a movie or go to the mall lol i just want to shower thats it. Well sounds like r and l can be a good fit for us if we want to make consistent money.. no perfect company but they seem fair which most companies aren't so that is a major plus.

He’s one of the main culprits in what I describe. Insolent little p***k. He’s run off about a dozen good drivers with his antics

Every company always has one of these guys why i just dont get it. This one guy can ruin a whole company and they never get canned its astonishing really. Where do yahll work now? Is it better then r and l for teaming? Tli (transco lines) was great for teaming trucks did 71mph always got 6k miles every week all dedicated freight for ups i ran from compton California to sweetwater tx 3x a week on the way back id stop by estes in Phoenix az and grab one of our mt trls head back to compton and repeat it worked like clockwork. But they never would give drivers time off they would always come up with an excuse why even if you put it in months in advance. 7200 miles one week and i think on the shorter week was like 5-5200 miles so it average out to 6-6400 miles a week. But there pay sucks they only paid us .55cpm for all these miles so i ran hard and wasn't making s h i t. If they paid 80cpm for that account maybe i would go back if i solely wanted no life and just to make money consistently.. i really want to go to estes but i need a fridge in my truck and an inverter, also cb radio would be nice but not a make or break.. finding the right trucking company for teams is harder then it sounds. Getting a job isnt hard just finding the right one is hard takes lot of research and asking around.

I don’t team anymore. Solo for a FedEx ground contractor. Go home everyday. Run same run every night. I’ll make 115k this year laying around half the night waiting for red light to turn green. LTL not my thing. I don’t like seniority. I just wanna work and go home without being bothered

Estes might let you put inverter in truck. Lot of new trucks come from factory with one. I’d toss apps in at RL and Estes and get the ball rolling. You don’t wanna wait for winter to switch. Get rolling now
