Some guys don't realize how hard u got to hustle doing short haul. Makes otr work easy. Be flat wore out by Friday and the 10th load of the week.

 

I never spend less than 30 minutes on line 4 at a customer, unless it really takes less than 30 minutes. If I have to tarp, I usually end up with an hr or more of line 4 time.

 

Are you trying to say that loading, unloading, loading then unloading again several times a day when it's 100 degrees out and the air is so thick with wildfire smoke that you need to chew to breath isn't gravy?

 

Couple OS loads down to TX….. not excited to be back in a truck hahah

 

Yeah tell me about it ! Then u go to the truckstop to get fuel . And get behind the ####### that's inside ordering food or taking a shower and now ur blocked in for 20 minutes. And then u miss ur delivery by 10 minutes which f's up the entire rest of the week and parts of next week as well.. I learned real quick to always keep cash on hand to grease the palms of the forklift guys to stay a extra 30 mins late.

 

If he is delivering close to or north of I80 in CA he is running shortest route or close to it.

 

Always fill her to the top at the end of the day; and have enough fuel capacity to go more than whatever the next day can bring.
That, a gallon of water and 700 mg worth of your favorite caffeinated beverage and a dark pair of shades’ll get you through the local work doldrums.

 

New one on me as well- pulled in and when it was my turn I asked what was for me
Thru some hand waving and some guessing; then the guy i asked drawing
“6 0” in the sand with his finger.......
surprisingly it all worked out well; even if I did forget the edge protectors in my yard.

 

Tell them they can stack more on a pallet. It won’t hurt them.
