The Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety, Truck Safety Coalition, Citizens for Reliable and Safe Highways and Parents Against Tired Truckers filed joint comments to FMCSA to limit trucks to 60 mph.

Safety groups call for 60 mph speed limiters on trucks

Everyone was assuming that the FMCSA was going to settle on a 65 mph limit, but their proposal doesn't specify that speed. It could end up lower.

FMCSA will continue to accept comments on the Speed Limiter proposed rule through Monday, July 18

What are the odds of this actually happening? How can you even change lanes going 60? The people drive 90 on the highway where I live and it’s hard doing 65 with them flying past in every lane

I'll definitely leave the trucking industry if we're all set at the same speed. My blood pressure would be in the Guinness book

It will be 60. We all know it and then they will ##### at all the new wrecks and demand we be limited to the right lane. Then they will be mad at the rolling walls of trucks and demand we only roll at night then get madder at the huge spike in costs and demand we have our rates set by the gooberment which will then be followed by them getting even angrier and wanting self driving trucks legally mandated.

That’s ok, set cruise at 55. stay in lane again, and gridlock the interstate, don’t move over for ramp traffic, keep it tight
    Let’s Ride.
    Maybe we’ll get 10 mpg.

    55 - 10 hours. 550 miles, forgetvthe 70 mph for 700 miles.
day later on their goods. pay it forward, sometimes you gotta lose a bit of money to prove a point.

Can you imagine all the anger with the tards who are to dumb to use an acceleration ramp anyway, when all the trucks are in the right lane and not spaced enough for said tard to enter the big road….?

I'll sit back with popcorn and listen to the #####ing from the idiot politicians and other drivers when trucks are getting hit left and right on the highways cause every ####### and their grandmother's brother is driving 65-70+. Or traffic is backed up for miles, and I'll be happy to tell everybody #####ing about it how the morons in charge decided it was a smart move.

    Good times.

If FMCSA was sincerely concerned about safety, they'd do something about lack of parking along the interstates. Can spend some money and open new parking areas for trucks only and re-open the ones that have been closed.

If they do this, every truck needs a big sign on the back stating that they are limited to 60mph thanks to the above organizations and the Federal Gov.
