But I also like the simple look of the 6666. With these menu driven radios, there's only a few button you would normally use. Most of the main features of the radio are set and forget. Most of those buttons on the 5555N makes the radio look too busy for me. If I was wanting to purchase one of these radios, it could come down to which one is available and not out of stock. As far as performance I assume they both would be great radios. At least their specs are close to the same.ProfessionalNoticer, Another Canadian driver and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
The noise reduction on the 5555NII is really great. At the same price as a 6666 the 5555N II (I have both) wins hands down IMHO!

Well............unless you regularly park your vehicle in the middle of the desert, I don't think any of these radios would've survived the journey from overseas in hot shipping containers, hot dry vans, etc. due to heat melting stuff! I think they'll be fine in most vehicles.
JMHO

The prices the shops are charging for the mono-band 10 Meter radios is criminal. For $650ish you can purchase a Yaesu FT-891 https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/ysu-ft-891
