Each one has an advantage over the other and each one has a disadvantage. The 6666 has the best encoder and the 5555 has better heat dissipation.

Between these two radios it would be a tough decision for me. I'm sure most guys would want the better heat dissipation of the 5555N. I also like the big Stryker meter it has. When changing channels I usually don't spin the dial very fast (like wheel of fortune), so I assume the encoder would last the life of the radio.
But I also like the simple look of the 6666. With these menu driven radios, there's only a few button you would normally use. Most of the main features of the radio are set and forget. Most of those buttons on the 5555N makes the radio look too busy for me. If I was wanting to purchase one of these radios, it could come down to which one is available and not out of stock. As far as performance I assume they both would be great radios. At least their specs are close to the same.

The noise reduction on the 5555NII is really great. At the same price as a 6666 the 5555N II (I have both) wins hands down IMHO!

only if you keep it inside an air conditioned house or don't leave it locked inside a hot truck.

Well if thats really true, then i will never own an export radio, since it sounds like they are built worse than a cobra cb.

Well............unless you regularly park your vehicle in the middle of the desert, I don't think any of these radios would've survived the journey from overseas in hot shipping containers, hot dry vans, etc. due to heat melting stuff! I think they'll be fine in most vehicles.

I don't disagree with you but this particular radio will cover 10-12 meters and costs less than $300.
