So — my neighbor bought himself a $20 Stihl weed eater at a yard sale and I think he finally figured out what was wrong with it because he’s cutting hay and it’s disturbing the cow elk that I’ve been watching for an hour and a half— thinking I need to file a complaint

Well it has been an interesting afternoon...

Lost all power as I came off of I-15S onto I-86W. And I mean ALL power, killed the engine, radio, lights, dash, everything. Coasted completely dead stick for about 2 to 2.5 miles to get past the main Chubbuck exit a ways and off the side of the road.

Had the mechanic fron our Pocatello facility bring me new batteries and some batter cable makings. The positive cable for the remote jump posts had rubbed through and shorted to ground.... Thise remotes have now been done away with.

And to top it off I blew a power steering line as I coasted in dead stick... So I have armstrong steering for the rest of the night. Mechanic is going to get a new line made up in the morning and bring it and some ATF out to my house.

Morris. IL. Where IL47 crosses US6. NB at intersection; on left quad, was a fine little restaurant. The Owl...(Website map shows a pharmacy there now)
But Morris's claim to fame was the unique speed law enforcements. NB on 47, come into town. Road drops straight down to the river bridge and then rare's right straight back up to level with US6 junction. The man had a "whammy" (cable timer) on the incoming NB downhill about half way. Road was narrow, buildings close to road. He sat in a lawn chair on the side walk and observed his timer. Was looking right into your cab as you drifted by. Don't recall the limit, but it was LOW and sign was not very far back. I mean speed trap extraordinaire, right there laid out in the sunny open for all to see...(1956-57)
