Praxair hit me up yesterday. Looks like a great gig, but I’m staying put for now. But they’re definitely going to be in the back of my mind.

What made you not want to pursue them?

Nothing on their end. I’m just trying to hold up my end of the bargain where I’m at.

this is TRUE………IF YOU WANT. We have guys that stay in the upper 50’s low low 60’s every week, then you have guys that purposely (with logistics help of course) make sure they have JUST ENOUGH time on their clock to come in on they’re 6th day to do one stop (4 hours) to eat up their entire 70….. (in my experience) if you WORK (and not a milker) logistics will help you out with whatever you need.

Example: Saturday is Christmas…. (A regular schedule day of work for me) Logistics is giving me a 7 hour day so I can be home when the fam wakes up…. I called logistics and said I’ll come in on Christmas Eve (my day off) to work a FULL day if they could get me off EARLY on Saturday. They didn’t hesitate for a second……

(did I forget to mention Christmas Eve is a paid holiday for us lol)

Does cryo use a regular liquid tanker trailer, or do they have a special type of tanker trailer?

Special trailers made for the work. Dedicated. Aluminum or stainless mostly now. Basically a vessel in a vessel. Sort of like a big thermos.

They are road drivers. They basically live in the truck while supplying liquid for different type jobs such as a refinery turn around or oil field work.
Then they may head somewhere else for another job. Typically on the road for a couple months at a time and depending on the type of job, may rack up the motel points too.

I will add to this thread that when I interviewed with Messer, their pay and benefit package was very good. An hourly/mileage hybrid with weekend differential as well as good health benefit options and 401k. They seem to get more hate then the other outfits but, it seemed very good to me.
