I had to find mufflers to fit the plumbing for the catalytics on my W900L. Found a Grand Rock heavy equipment muffler rated at -18dB and put a pair of them on. Dropped 100* off the exhaust, and it sounds nice without being overly loud. More or less the same as my B’s that have vertical mufflers with no baffle plates.

Colorado has no sense of humor for some reason about that .. where I lived out there it seemed like I got a lecture & tickets 2 or 3 times a mouth for straight pipes.. I finally put a resonator underneath.. mostly just to make them crawl underneath to look.if they would looked hard enough they would have seen the weld seam where it had been opened up
( for inspection purposes only of coarse )..lol
BTW.. Colorado don't have any hot aviator glasses wearing strawberry short cake DOT officers like Ya'll got there in Arkansas.. :)

Donaldson has a flow through that Pittsburg power reuses that is pretty quite but has a nice bark to it if you are getting on it,

M100463 is the Donaldson muffler rebranded as Pittsburgh Power. It's a 5" free flow muffler. I ran two of them under the bunk on my old T600. My FLD just has the one on the back of the cab. They quiet it down good and doubtful there's any added backpressure or higher egts. You look thru the end of one and it's wide open free flow nothing there obstructing.

Good thread. At some point in the near future Im putting on some 7" pipes on mt truck and as much as I want to just straight pipe it, I think a muffler underneath will be a good idea.

    staceydude Thanks this.

Also if it’s too quiet just reverse the direction of flow
