I still don't see where trying to get broker authority gains anything unless you're going to try and broker to other companies. Doesn't matter how many trucks he has.

What is your plan to get those direct customers? Or is the plan to just double broker the loads?

Your answers here sure doesn't give the impression of great sales ability.

My plan is to get the experience as a broker. I plan on doing whatever I can to grow. I am going to be be a direct broker with a company. But it can’t just happen because I say it will. It will take time.
Also I have no sales ability. Again I’m beginning

1 truck or 10. Doesn't matter. Still one owner. If he's putting drivers in the trucks. They're his employees. If he wants direct contracts. He needs a sales person. Not a broker. So you are dangerous to your friends money.

Because nothing you say that you want to do. Will benefit him.

What is a direct broker with a company? Makes zero sense. No broker authority is needed for that, working as a captive agent for the company.(AKA salesperson) You can work out any payment schedule both agree to.

No, he means a salesperson. You know the kind of person that goes and knocks on doors and sells your company product and services.
He is a service provider. He needs someone to actually sell his service for him instead of just looking for whatever dross is available.

You only need to be a "broker" if you plan on brokering freight to many trucking companies.

But if all you're trying to do is find direct freight for your friend's company, then you don't need any of that. You just need to start knocking on doors, and talking with business owners that need freight moved.

So are you trying to be a broker, or a salesman?

Just like Bluebell ice cream has a sales person that contacts Walmart to sell their products to be put on their shelves. He has a product. Trucks/drivers. He's selling that product to the shippers. He needs a person that knows sales. Do you have a background in sales? If not. Good luck. Both sales people and brokers are well versed in sales. That is how they make their money or company its money.

That’s a part of what I am doing tho. Like I said I’m not trying to have my friend drop his business and come rely on me. No that’s is just selfish on my part.
