I cant believe how different our pay structures are. We get double time and a half, but only for 8 hours, because we only get 8 hours of holiday pay. Anything after that is just time and a half. $560 would be the minimum for that day and then $42 an hour afterward.

We earn 86.75 for as many hours as we can legally log. Better to work local so we wont have to take a 30 minute break. Theoretically you'd be able to work 16 at that rate. Just under 1400 for the shift. We call in the day before to bid in seniority order and instead of listening to the list of runs I just ask which has the most hours...lol
I think we got 5 bucks over 3 years last contract so next year will be more lucrative.

We may be the sole plant testing of a bluetooth phone policy trial going forward. They must realize it's a different culture with newer drivers and they'll need to change along with it to attract new drivers.
I'm older so for my whole career never had a cell but for the last 15 or so

I could do it I guess, but I also set my phone in a holder on the dash and use it for music and podcasts and what not as well.

So it’s been a couple years since this thread debuted and the mergers. What would y’all say is the current ranking of the cryo companies after all the pay raises and whatnot.

A horse apiece. I think all will pay near the same by years end.
I like the way linde pays better than the activity pay.

Pay can be drastically different per terminal. It may be more accurate to choose a specific area and focus on that.
The 3 terminals we have in North Oregon and the one in Fife,WA and the one in Ferndale, WA all have different pay scales. Even the 3 in Oregon, Hilsboro, Tualatin, and us in Portland are all different. We are the only Union run(Ha!) out of the 3. Fife and Ferndale are Union, but 2 different Locals and 2 different contracts. Messer in Vancouver just negotiated a new contract and its been rumored to be pretty decent. But Linde and Messer arent friendly with each other here so We dont get to talk with them to get the skinny.
Our last contract, which expires in 04/24 got us a whopping $1.75.............$1.25 for the first year and .50 for the next 2 years and we top out at $29, being at $28.50 now. Our Dues cost almost $1 per hour based on a 40 hour workweek. Temp companies pay more than we do($31-35) and they cant figure out why they cant get drivers.

    Rugerfan and Dennixx Thank this.

We had a AP driver that's been loading at our plant for years, previously was a customer driver.
Today was his last day. They wrote him up for eating while driving and took away his safety bonus for the year..
He got on with AG, who built a small plant here 2 years ago. A week and a half ago he gave his notice and starts tomorrow..
They (AP) now have contractors in doing the work. Probably 1500 to 2000 a day. All for taking this dudes mere pittance away to spite him.. Few hundred I suppose. FOOLS!
Told him I would not even have given notice. Just called from the company phone and said I'd no longer be working for them.
We at least have eased up on camera settings.

I think you and I are in the same area (Indy). What was the schedule starting out? Are they a 24/7 operation?
