O/O's that are leased on to a carrier. Does your carrier require a certificate of Insurance for a workman's comp policy? I can understand a coi for freight coverage not for a workers comp policy/workers occupation policy. Asking for a friend. Thanks

It depends on the state.....When I was leased we weren't required to... Occ/acc was like a substitute insurance instead of WC

A lot of customers/brokers want to see it as well, you can exempt yourself though as a sole proprietor, but you still need a policy

Let me rephrase what iam asking. Policy is not good enough for coverage for carrier. Wanting a certificate of Insurance with the carrier's name on it. Fully aware of opting in and opting out.

So they want to be an additional insured? Know someone that got hammered because the O/O was using one of his trailers and was injured in the trailer.
Occ health denied the claim because it was not the O/O's "equipment"

Yes, they want to be listed as additional insured. Why?
