I rebuilt my fan a couple years back using a Kitmasters kit. It started leaking slowly last week, when Truck was turned off, but was still working. I figured a mini kit cartridge was needed. Then it started leaking real fast, drainage my tanks in a couple minutes after shutting it off. It quit engaging all together. So I locked it up with 2 5/16” 1” bolts for now. A/C wasn’t working at idle. Never did got hot, in almost 100 degree weather idling. Thanks to a new radiator. Anyway I noticed it looks like the big o ring in back blew out, you can see a mark, and part of the o ring. I plan on using a Horton quick kit this time. Available at Dealer for less than the kitmaster. It’s comes with the hub already assembled. I’m disappointed in kitmaster. Wondering if I did something wrong. Don’t think so, first time, followed the instructions to a T. Warranty was 2 yrs. it’s just expired. WTF? They got me good!! Lol. Anyone else have problems with the kitmaster kits? I’m posting this mainly so others don’t get burned,

I prefer Kit Masters over Horton. Kit Masters was started by ex Horton engineer. Give them a call, I bet they make it right.

When I had my radiator replaced last year I debated endlessly whether to rebuild the hub or buy another one. Your situation is exactly why I ultimately decided to buy a new one from KW.

I figured once the time was invested in the rebuild it would bring the cost up to a new or already rebuilt one. Plus, I've never done one myself and didn't want to fight with it later once the new radiator was in the way in case I screwed the job up.

I've seen plenty blown out over the years. Always figured it was due to not lubricating the o ring enough.

I used the lube they had in the kit. Wasn’t very much at all.

A002C113-E98A-4124-AACA-AD5048DB5096.png Looks like the 2 yrs is still good. Installed sept 2020. I doubt I registered the warranty. Maybe I’ll get lucky, and they’ll honor it. I’ll get to make it all pretty again. Did everything but autograph it the first time. Lol.

It looks good. Mine was leaking about 4 years ago. I just got a reman, think it was in the upper $600's with a core. A friend and I did it, was a two person job. With the price of parts now I wouldn't be surprised if the price doubled.
