Kennesaw is a nice terminal and I have nothing but good things to day about the terminal manager there. That doesn't have anything to do with what you'll be doing teaming at R&L. Its just a place to park the truck. You will be dealing with central, and they will run your dick into the ground and then some. I didn't like teaming and I didn't like how we were treated. My teammate who was a older gentleman missed multiple doctor appointments because central acted like we were slaves. If that's what you like "being about your money" knock yourself out. Some people don't have a life outside of work and this suits them I assume. Also keep in mind we were "wild" team. Thing could have been better if we had a set run.

I was making around 70cpm. So if they're paying 80cpm, do the math. It doesn't add up. That team out of Atlanta was doing close to 7K miles a week. That's $2800 at that rate. I would bet on $110K if they gave a pay raise. We had weeks with as little as 4800 miles. Keep in mind that doesn't mean we got home any sooner. It just meant we sat some where waiting for a load or better yet, ran a bunch of short BS loads.

Technically we were supposed to be off for 48hrs. The longer we were there the shorter that time got. By the end we'd get home Saturday late, we'd leave out Monday by noon. At the beginning we would get home Saturday early morning, that was much better. Actually now that I think about it, the week I quit we didn't get back until Sunday morning.

I would consider a linehaul job with that terminal if I wasn't under central and dealt with the terminal alone.

Also, more often than not we would have to get a set of empty's to Atlanta to pick up our first load for the week. Kennesaw just didn't have that much going on. So either way you'll be running out of the Atlanta terminal.

    Hope this helps.

Also keep in mind that there is a Estes terminal down the road as well...

Sounds like i should go to the Atlanta terminal save time hooking up doubles. Everyone i spoke with loved rl for teaming and said they kept them busy and money was great. But estes doesn't allow pets on trucks and we bring our cat with us. Yeah they would have to be paying 3200$ gross per week to be close to the 150k advertised pay. I was thinking they were paying some kind of bonus or something to get those numbers.. like a mileage bonus or some kind of calculation where they pay for breaking down set and fueling and cpm all into one per route that your running but even then they would have to be paying like 600-650$ a day per driver so idk its not impossible just highly unlikely maybe in a few more years this may be possible. Maybe top pay is this much and the new starting base pay is 80cpm that would make some sense as well..

Idk where else to go i sat for 28hrs waiting for a load in rialto California yesterday for fedex ground dont get paid a dime for that because im salary guaranteed 1800$ a week minimum gross. They factor all that in.. this has happened atleast 50 times in 2 years ive sat for over 24hrs waiting for a load its unacceptable honestly and sat for 10-12+hrs atleast 100x or more as well..

Guys said they ran wild and they were averaging 5300-6500 a wk at rl but he said they average the higher mileage more often then not.. he said he netting 120k take home but he ran his a s s off amd contacted Central dispatch 2hrs out and when in Ohio introduced himself to Central dispatch to put a face to that name and created a name for himself.. so idk i just need to make money.

Not trying to truck till im 50 im 33yrs old trying to get iut by the time im 40yts old make the sacrifice now and get out. I have an exit plan just need to stack up on money for now..

How is he netting 120K take home? That's like $160K+ gross. Guy was BS'ing you, keep in mind guys love to inflate their numbers. They'll take their best week ever and pretend that's what they are doing every week.

IIRC, we averaged 5700 miles per week. And we never sat on our own accord. If there was a load, we were running it.

FWIW I would rather sit then do these short BS loads R&L was giving us.

If you think you can hold out for a dedicated run with R&L and you're about making that money I would go for it. You're definitely not gonna go broke working team @R&L. I would just temper your expectations. They do give regular raises too if I remember right, so once you're topped out you might be up there.

Yeah, if you're closer to ATL than K-saw I would just do ATL terminal. There is more runs there and opportunity.

There was some good things about R&L as well, don't get me wrong but I'm assuming you're asking for the potential issues. Sounds like you're set on it. There is definitely worse companies to work for.

    Good luck.

Yeah when i asked him how much he grossed he said ohh that im not sure. Im like come on everyone pays attention to there checks gross and net and knows what they made each year its not something you forget.. i expect to gross 2200-2800 a week and take home 1400-1800 net thats my expectations and im cool with that. I get 1300 net a wk now but i sit like nobody's business some say ohhs thats good then not really when your out here for 5-7 days to get the minimum id rather be home if i cant earn anymore then that.. im gunna poke at him and ask how did you net 120k ive never heard any driver ltl make that if he can email me some pay stubs.. covenant transport believe it or not is paying 80-86cpm guy did actually show his 3 month pay stubs from working on there estes account and his checks were fat like 2k-2700 net take home some were short but he didnt run the full week cause he went on hometime..

I find it hard to believe i started at covenant and they were the absolute worst company ive ever worked for. No matter how much they pay i could never go back but man its tempting.. lol

I expect to net around 75-100k at rl those are reasonable expectations.. idk why guys love to lie about there numbers just be honest seriously..

Covenant paying 80-86cpm guy showed his 3 month pay stubs and he was netting 2-2800 some checks had some bonuses and he netted like 4k with the bonus.. i wouldn't believe it if he didn't show it.. it was for the estes account they have..

I started with covenant worst company ever.. it does sound tempting but i know they will screw up that account and estes will get rid of them sooner then later plus freight is super slow everywhere because everyone is shipping by boat and rail way because its cheaper so matter of time before they stop seeing those big checks and they will quit..

Is it true they accept pets? Or at least they let teams have pets in their truck?

They do let pets on team trucks right along with the flea infestation that comes with. And I’ve said it many times, you will work for central dispatch as a team and R&L CENTRAL DISPATCH SUCKS. They will screw you over in a heartbeat. Mike is the worst!

There not hiring out of ellenwood terminal at the moment. So i guess kennesaw it is unfortunately. I spoke with a man named gator yesterday about the 150k posting i seen and sure enough he said yeup it was a typo but the post is still up.. cant you sue them for false advertisement?

Idk im gunna give it a shot maybe things will eventually get better and maybe they will hire new individuals who are better equipped for the job. Maybe some of the i d i ots peopls speak of in central dispatch isnt there or maybe i dont end up dealing with those same people because they may or may not be working there anymore.. i dont want to focus on that per say..

Do they pay well check, do they have miles check, do they allow pets check. Everyone experience is different some people will love it some will hate it im sure.
But for teams i hear great things now for p and d not so much.

I cant think of too many companies paying what they pay or even more consistently.. people do lie about there projected numbers all the time and it is trucking so its hard to say how much someone will truly make accurately.

Ive done extensive research and to be honest other companies i might drive for ups they dont hire in my area for sleeper teams, yrc doesnt do teams, estes doesn't allow pets, old d doesn't allow pets, averitt doesn't have enough miles although im not opposed to working for them either etc.. if anybody knows of better paying companies thats gross 2500-3k plus a week company team driver thats a great company please let me know.

    59EX Thanks this.
