Power Only Freightliner Sport Chassis

Hi guys, I have a Sport Chassis truck that I own free and clear, low mileage, with a Cat C7 and Allison 6 spd transmission. It can tow 30k lbs and has a 5th wheel, gooseneck, and bumper pull hitch. It gets 8-9 mpg. The backseat converts into a bed, so perfect for traveling.

My question- is there anything I can do with it as a power-only truck? I was thinking I could pull the over-sized 5th wheel RV's out of Indiana (tow away) that are too big to be towed on a trailer, but Horizon and the other contractors for that type of work won't return my calls or emails, not sure why.

I looked at uShip but the rates there suck, and almost zero chance of finding a return load. I could buy a trailer to mate to my truck, but from everything I'm reading now is not a great time to get into Hotshot. Any other ideas? I do have a Class A CDL. If I don't figure out how to put it to work, I'm going to sell it... thanks for any advice!

 

Hey thanks for the responses... I would have responded earlier, but the site just now told me that there were responses to this thread, when it's been over a month since the first response.

I have been following Vandy for about a year, excellent channel and good dude! The only thing he's missing is a video detailing the entire pick up and drop off process- what happens, step by step, from the time he pulls into the yard to the time he leaves. That would be cool to see, as long as the site doesn't forbid filming. He shows bits and pieces but would be nice to get a play-by-play with no detail omitted.

I decided to go ahead and sell the Sport Chassis after all, just don't need it anymore. Had some questions but no serious offers yet. I leased a 2023 Volvo VNL860 from Penske and signed up to drive for a small local company that pays salary, we'll see how it goes.
